Looks good. did you have to do much machine work to the built motor? And is that a fake tip then hanging on the passenger side?

assuming you have cleaned up the engine bay as far as the computer location and the strap? across the valve cover? lol stickers arent my thing but your car, your taste.

other than that it looks good and the front looks VERY NICE AND CLEAN. Im a big fan.

Not really much machine work to tghe engine but had to make a custom block off plate...yes its a fake tip all razzis are lol...and yes I've cleaned up the engine bay..computer is in the cabin...the strap was just in there for the test drive...I'm now using the lsj spark coil cover cutg so that the l61 coils work...the will be gone once I figure out my msd problems

i gotcha. and not all tips on the razzi are fake. mine were not fake i plan on running the same valve cover with the stock l61 coil pack as well. where did you cut or grind to get the coil pack to fit? did you modify the coil pack or the valve cover or both? i have a cover plate as well so the top of my coil pack is already off. looks like i need to modify the black plastic on the coil pack.

Why did you use stage 2 NA cams on a turbo Motor?

Why did you use an LSJ Head?

Please tell me you're getting a new exhaust manifold.

And plus tell me you didnt use your 70k mile block and just toss in the pistons and rods...

ok, now that thats out of the way...

awesome, car looks great! Hope to see you (and your dj equipment) at the bash LOL...

looking good man........keep us updated

Re: DJMIKEBARR turbo build

You have to grind a little bit on the coil pack it self.....the motor was honed before the pistons and rods went in and it also got brand new rod bearings...I used the lsj head to be different and I know later down the road u can port them a lot larger then l61s...that exhaust manifold will be used for right now and next summer I'm switching to bigger and better

it was pretty easy, just grind out where the metal sleeves are that the stock bolts go through.. this is the only part that sticks out off of the coil pack... then i just cut the plate with a dremel and it fit great!

lol i like how the original motor had that wrinkle red on the valve cover. looked like a honda engine good job with the LSJ head. i am a fan of that valve cover more than the L61 for some reason...

really enjoyed seeing you use the AEM intake as well. if someone didnt know, they'd think it was N/A. LOL

i love the front end, custom ftw. and you can never go wrong with that lip. it has win written all over it.

ps, the eagle rods are H beams, not I beams

Re: DJMIKEBARR turbo build
Tuesday, February 02, 2010 11:20 AM
I would of left l61 head then ported lsj and swapped it later on. But when you do i sent my lsj to m2 race in jersey should look into it great cnc port job.

Re: DJMIKEBARR turbo build
Tuesday, February 02, 2010 11:49 AM
Yeah the lsj valve cover is getting powdercoated wrinkle red once the turbo is on and the aem intake is only on there for now because my wire to move ther battery to the trunk hasn't come in yet lol

Next summer the car will prolly get sleeved and the head built...this is just the brake in build lol

the motor and turbo looks nice and all by why would you put a dual exhaust systm and only have the left side work and make the right side not work at all. it makes you car look bad and you will get made fun of big time for it.

buhhhhhhhhhhh when dealerships put the razzi kit on these cars they put the fake tip.... i doubt anyone on here actually throws a fake tip on there... and he doesnt like duals, just doesnt have another rear.... yet

Re: DJMIKEBARR turbo build
Tuesday, February 02, 2010 5:41 PM
plus we took a little aerosol SEM black and sprayed the inside of the tip.. so now it looks like it works with carbon buildup haha.

looks good barr, Gotta get yourself some better pics with a better camera. I knew i should of took some with mine, I'm really pleased with how rounding the corners really helped the cuts I have good ideas here and there
