There is a tach lead in the fuse box right above the battery there... you can't miss it. Read the fuse box cover and you'll see it.

Have fun.

Not on the 2000+'s

You could tap the pink wire on the IDI I think.

But im trying to find the wire on the pcm or is there one? No tach lead in the inside fuse or the engine fuse.

There isn't one. The PCM interpolates the RPM signal using the coil inputs.

You can add a RPM signal wire on your car.

Pin 10 on connector 1. Black One.

I had to add one there for the RPM signal on my emanage.

Works great, thanks to The Pute 2!!

Jeff

I just did this 2 days ago, so I know for sure it works on a 2k.

Get the pin from a dealer, its 20 ga wire.

I got the pin from a friend at a dealership, they have tons of them sitting around. Should be able to get it cheap if not free.

Hope that helps.

Jeff

I was told the ORANGE wire by afcavy. I used it when hooking up my SDS eic, and it worked perfectly fine.

LOL, so it looks like it could be alot of colors.

I know the pink on the IDI will give tach signal. My shift light is hooked to that. That will work for your SAFC.

I dont feel like running a wire to the ecu side of the car thats why I asked where at on the ecu you can put it. because thats where the safc wires are. Thanks Kane for the info thats what I was looking for. Thanks to all for the other posts.

Use a wire tap, or solder in a connection.

Oh, you mean for the tach fuse thing...

Go to RadioShack, grab a fuse tap, and use that. Its basically a metal blade that sticks into the fuse holder, and the other end connects to a wire. Either that or you can tap the wire on the bottom of the fuse panel.

When I put in my S-AFC a month ago Stevefire, I simply used a regular butt connector, the thin side... I used a set of cutters and chopped the connector down until it fit. Voila.

I also got power from my S-AFC at the ABS relay at the top right hand corner of the box.

Have fun!

Hey guys, i myself have been looking for a full rpm signal without the pin 10 trick, iv now tried the purple/white on the idi cover, which gives random ass rpm signal at idle it bounces from 2000 to 4000 and @!#$ its crazy....and then i tried the pink.. and it gives nothing, i tried the orange and it gives Half rpm signal, i wonder about the white?....hm anywhere else on a 01 to get full rpm signal?...annnnnnd is the TPS on the throttle body? and i tapped the blue wire and i still get no throttle signal i dont kno wat 2 do

i used the purple/white wire for my alarm. i did have the problem at first though that it would seem to give a quick "bouncing" up and down rpm. then i played with the settings for the number of pulses the alarm senses (between 1-16) and afterwards i found the right number of pulses for the alarm to count for the rpm's to be accurate. so yea you probably will need an adapter (in my case it was a setting on my alarm)
