Not on the 2000+'s
You could tap the pink wire on the IDI I think.

But im trying to find the wire on the pcm or is there one? No tach lead in the inside fuse or the engine fuse.
I stand corrected - I haven't played enough with a 2k+ LD9... hmmm... GM really f*cked things up with that BCM eh?

Slowly but surely may some day win this race...
You can add a RPM signal wire on your car.
Pin 10 on connector 1. Black One.
I had to add one there for the RPM signal on my emanage.
Works great, thanks to The Pute 2!!

How would I go about taping it into the ecu. where can I get the pins for the ecu, how much, I need to get them by tomorrow, is this pinout certain I just dont want to put the pinf in the ecu and get a cel or burn up the safc or ecu. Let me know.
I just did this 2 days ago, so I know for sure it works on a 2k.
Get the pin from a dealer, its 20 ga wire.
I got the pin from a friend at a dealership, they have tons of them sitting around. Should be able to get it cheap if not free.
Hope that helps.

I was told the ORANGE wire by afcavy. I used it when hooking up my SDS eic, and it worked perfectly fine.
LOL, so it looks like it could be alot of colors.
I know the pink on the IDI will give tach signal. My shift light is hooked to that. That will work for your SAFC.
FU Tuning
I dont feel like running a wire to the ecu side of the car thats why I asked where at on the ecu you can put it. because thats where the safc wires are. Thanks Kane for the info thats what I was looking for. Thanks to all for the other posts.

ok nevermind, I just went and checked, and yes I do have one.
now, new question:
how do you tap into it?
all I see is a square hole...... I dont know how I'd solder into it
Oh, you mean for the tach fuse thing...
Go to RadioShack, grab a fuse tap, and use that. Its basically a metal blade that sticks into the fuse holder, and the other end connects to a wire. Either that or you can tap the wire on the bottom of the fuse panel.

i used the purple/white wire for my alarm. i did have the problem at first though that it would seem to give a quick "bouncing" up and down rpm. then i played with the settings for the number of pulses the alarm senses (between 1-16) and afterwards i found the right number of pulses for the alarm to count for the rpm's to be accurate. so yea you probably will need an adapter (in my case it was a setting on my alarm)
