Hey guys/girls.. As some of you saw, I recently posted pics of my new audio that I just purchased.
I want to create a trunk setup, with possibly a false floor/plexiglass type idea. I've searched and found a lot of matches, but nothing really what im looking for. I want a factory looking feel to it, with vinyl, carpet, etc. No Fiberglass, but feel free to post anyways.
Im finally getting out of the whole 2 subs in a box with an amp on the back of the seat idea, but im having a hard time figureing out what I want.. Im not going to be copying anyone, I just want ideas.
Even if you can provide links of a good spot to get ideas, anything helps.. im stumped. Im not sure how long this thread will last, but hopefully you guys can help me out. I remember seeing a Huge post with everyone posting pics, but cant find it

What about doing two separate boxes on each side of the trunk?? That's what I was planning awhile ago so I could still have some usable trunk space
Only stuff I've had in the Cav yet has been the simple box w/ the amp on the floor

So no pics from me, heh.

No I dont want boxes... I want it built into the car.. almost a factory look, but with a nicer touch.

What I'm saying is to make the walls the subs

and of course cover it with matching vinyl or even carpet. IMO, raised floor w/ plexi isn't factory.

Here is my trunk setup I had done at great scott in norwich CT, 2 12" JLW3, reverse firing, 1 Alpine V12 550x1 powering the subs, and 1 Alpine V12 500x4 powering the Polk Momo interiors. In the middle is a black lexan chevy symbal sunken in white vinyl under plexiglass, theres two blue neons next to the strut tower bar, and two smaller neons on each side of the chevy symbal, both hidden. The carpet matches the stock trunk carpet perfectly. Hope this is close to what you were looking for.

and heres a closer look at the chevy symbal under plexiglass, the neons you see are a reflection of the ones hidden by the strut bar, you cant see any of the neons inside.

Oh and sorry for the spots on the first picture, it was snowing out and it was getting on my lense.
you could always do a hidden design like the JL audo stealth boxes... i had one in my s-10 that was nice!
Carbon!! Yes thats the ideas im looking for. You get what I meant by factory style. everything matches the stock colors, and it looks like it could have come like that.
Looks good man. thanks, keep em comming!

I "borrowed" this pic from " AgentOmega " incase he doesn't see this thread...

^ That's sorta what I was talkin' about for putting the sub in the walls

But maybe make it extend the length of the trunk, up to the back seat, so it's all flat

Thanks, I pretty much told them heres how much im spending, do whatever you want i dont care. lol and thats what they came up with, they said we only have one question, do you vacum your trunk, i said no, he said ok, then they showed me this. They told me we could have done the whole thing in white vinyl and made it really stick out but since you dont clean your trunk then a factory look was the way to go in this situation. I think this is better IMO to keep it looking factory yet a whole trunk setup really catches the eye. Goodluck on getting yours done and hope to see it when finished.
im building an amp rack out of copper piping to sit infront of the box, it will be painted orange as well

Naw mang!! Polish that copper

IMO, polished would look better than painted.

i think you missunderstand the term "fiberglass". just because its fiberglass, doesnt mean it has to be painted. it can be finished in all the same ways as wood.
mine will be done in a few weeks (hopefully), same idea to what your thinking, sub on the side, amp rack in spare tire well, and changer on oppisite side of the trunk from the sub. oh, and it will be mostly fiberglass, but the majority of it will be covered in trunk liner but will still have some flash when done

Gary, you totally made my day just now! Lol...
I made that box the way I did b/c I take my car on trips and wanted a fully-functional trunk. Seeing some nice setups on hear, though!
Ya I meant no FG, beause im not doing FG at all, so I dont want to see ideas that I cant use lol.
FG is time consuming, and in the end, doesnt produce the sound that a proper box will (as far as I know)
