Hello there guys, I am undecided as to which part of the engine or bolt on I should replace next. I have already put in a cold air intake and new headers which work wonderfully but I am unsure what I should do next.. Money is not much of a problem right now because I just got back from Iraq so I have some money saved up. I want to prep the engine and all the other parts so that on a later date I plan to bolt on a Hahn racecraft Stage 2 turbo. but I am having a tough choice. I am new to the j-body scene but I must say I like it but I am having a tough choice
We have on header!!
Go with a larger exhaust. Have it custom bent. Get a Magnaflow cat and a muffler of your choice. Another good idea would be to grab the largest size resonator you can find.
You could do internals if you plan on boosting, but they are usually pretty good with the boost stock.
I'm not much up on a lot of internal stuff, so I can't be of much more help.
start preparing for the turbo. like dont buy parts you dont need like a header.
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
I know but I had the headers b4 I decided I was going with the turbo
We only have ONE header!!!!!
ok stupid mistake jason lol
if your soon to be going turbo then when you get an exhaust just get it at 2.5 inchs now or even 3 if you feel friskey but i would recommend 2.5.
Also seing that w/ the turbo kit and it coming w/ alot the only other things i would do performance wise would either be a B&M short shifter, motor mounts, trans mounts, and any suspension you want.
Like stated before do worry about a whole lot of bolt on stuff w/ the HAHN kit cuz you may be buying useless parts
actually i apologize for that post w/o looking in your profile first....just do any of the things you have listed under the future and your good to go.
get a wideband, and boost gauge
AEM and Autometer
HP Tuners | Garrett T3/T04B | 2.5" Charge Pipes | 2.5" Downpipe | 650 Injectors | HO Manifold | Addco front/rear | Motor Mounts | HKS SSQV | Spec stage 3 | AEM UEGO Wideband | Team Green LSD | FMIC | 2.3 cams | 2.3 oil pump swap | 280WHP | Now ECOTECED
You need to finish off your exhaust if you plan on running turbo. You can basically do everything from the downpipe to the tip because the turbo manifold you'll need in the future will work off any downpipe that's in place. A turbo (obviously) can't spool up with 1&7/8" tubing for exhaust (your stock stuff)
