if i remember right, i think i read that you can just use the 56mm 2.3 butterfly in the 2.4 tb if i bore it out to 56mm
should i do this or just have the machine shop mkae one to fit the overbored tb???
I gave my machine shop a 2.3 and a stock TB, and they bored the stocker to fiftysix mm. They used the 2.3 plate, it bolts right up. They charged me 2 hours shop labor for it.

what would a good size be for boring out a 2.2L engine TB ?
Why bore out a stock 2.4 TB and use a 2.3 plate. You can bore to a 57m and use a stock Ecote plate. The ecotec plate will fit.

sorry if this is any form of thread jacking... but exactly how much is shop labor going to cost? and would they be able to make a new butterfly if i asked them to?
Why don't you call a machine shop and ask what their hourly rate is, and for an estimate?

I thought the 2.3 fits the 2.4 as well, this was recently discussed here somewhere, ill see if i can find the link.
The 2.3 TB isn't a direct bolt on to the 2.4. The manifold gets in the way. I think you might be able to modify the tb, but I'm not sure. If anyone is wondering, I can check when I get up today.

i got a 2.2L what would be a good bore size for my throttle body ?
2.2L
yea, what mattf said is why i just want to bore my extra 2.4 out,
bore it, bolt it, simple as that, im not looking to deal with any damn fitment issues/ i just want to drive
The swingarm assembly(rotor) hits the back bolt hole. I just grinded down some of the plastic on that area and it clears fine. I didn't even notice the first time on the car, till my S-afc was only reading 62% at WOT

, got'er fixed though, anf the mounting hole is still there, incase I want to swap back!
