hey, my goal for my car is to have it NA and break into the easy 14's for now. So far i have a header, 2.25" catback, intake, bored 59mm tb, aem alt pulley (in the mail) and car customs engine mounts (in the mail). What do you guys recommend i do next, i have a good amount of cash at the moment because i work for the county so thats not a problem really and i was thinking of getting a 2.4 head from the local junk yard and getting it ported and polished by my car clubs machine shop, getting the b&m shiftplus kit and getting the apexi afc because when i dynoed my car the guy showed me where the air/fuel curves should be and i was running 12 and the dyno showed it should be at 13 (running little rich) so getting the afc would slightly help me im guessing because the lags would be gone hopefully. thanks guys
Easy...do head-work. Contact
Jbody Performance about upgrading your cams and seeing what kind of package they have for a ported & polished head for the 2.4 motor.
Seeing that your auto, i'd look into a Torque Converter & Auto Trans Interceptor. For more info on the converter, check out the transmission forum.

try the HO intake manifold, secret cam swap, crank pulley, then head work.

Head work and cams are where it's at bro. You'll hit mid 14s with your current setup, a good head job, and the JBP stage 2 cams.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.

Also big thing, check your fuel...you might run rich or lean depending on how your computer reacts to your modifications.

JBP's cams don't seem to cause PCM's to throw any fits. But valvetrain + headwork and you never know. It's always a good idea to reset the PCM by disconnecting your battery before doing something like this.

No silly...not as far as throwing codes. I meant how the computer reacts as far dumping too much fuel or not enough.
After you do the Valvetrain work, get a dyno done and they will check your A/F ratio and tell you if you need any upgrades or not. Myself, I did exactly that on my ECOTEC and I was running VERY rich.

no i didnt have to do anything to the intake manifold, actually the rsm 62mm measures out to be 60mm and the 59mm tb measures to be 60mm as well soo...you do the math on that one

I don't know about their products but I wouldn't order anything from Mantapart. Worse customer service and you won't get your parts in a timely manner.

Yeah, I have the Level Zero Stage II cams (same as the JBP cams, they're both ground by Colt Cams just outside of Vancouver) in my LD9, I love 'em althrough extra vibration can be a bit annoying (its kinda funny watching the passenger seat shake with no passenger).
Oh yeah, Level Zero is $50 cheaper

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you, I hope with my current mods, I'll be into the 14s with drag radials.... if not, I guess its time for headwork.
So level zero is reputable?
They're a few bucks cheaper, save on shipping I guess.

After all the stuff that went down with the ECOTEC cams and how people wanted returns from Level Zero, I wouldn't trust them. I'd rather pay the extra $50 to JBP and know that if something goes wrong they will give me better customer service.
Also, yes they both use the same company to grind the cams but I believe they use different specs on the camshafts. I could be wrong.

nope, same damn camshafts... As for what happened with the GP... I'm pretty sure they lost alot of money on that. They are awesome guys, but its kinda hard to give people their money back when they werent making money on it.
I've had awesome customer service, including near-hand delivery to meet my time schedule and those cams are the same specs, the gains are wicked.

The problem is the same with alot of companies. They don't have money to backup with and they spend their profits too fast. When you don't have any money and something like that happends, your pretty much screwed, and that's what Level Zero did...they screwed themselves. They also lost alot of faith in our Jbody community which is their loss also.
I'm sure they are cool guys but they just made a business mistake.

I too would rather purchase from JBP. they have a proven track record and have the best customer service. Just because you lower your price a couple bucks to overshoot another company doesn't mean peopel are going to go to you. Customer service and knowledge of what the camshaft grinds do is what I want. LZM outright lied to the public and basically this caused then to run the LZM name through the mud.
so i went with JBP, love their products, cars, shop and the people behind them. They're a small business minded couple of guys, just looking to make us jbody guys fast. my hats off to em. ask for Mev or Greg, they're the geniouses over there.

Bingo...JBP is great company, price doesn't comphensate for quality of service.
