Sad day for DFW
Thursday, September 18, 2008 9:36 PM
Alas the time has come for i believe one of the best things that ever happened to the DFW area. The Texas J's car club. It started back in late 03 and has had some bumps in the road but went on. This all changed a few weeks ago when i stepped down as president seeing as i traded my car in. Amanda then took over but stepped down today. All of the originals but one remain.

The club has lost alot of members since last bash getting different cars and what not. Its sad to see her leave like this but all good things must come to an end. With the depletion of Js around the area and alot more delta bodies and other smaller vechicles taking over it would be hard to keep it going even for me if i still had my car.

So as of today September 18th 2008 the texas j's car club is no more. she may make a resurection in a few years but not any time soon. I want to think all the people that i have met through the gm bashes and all the good friends i have made through the car club.

As for the bash i will be there to hang with you all but im not sure how many will actually show from dfw. I want all my other big texas cities to hold it down in the J and D scene.

Texas J's
Rest In Peace

2003 - 2008

well hell. who do we contact for the small gm cars in dfw?

A dead platform will do this...I suspect we'll see more and more J clubs go by the wayside soon.

Really it's expected as the J was not a "classic" or highly sought after car and even modded, are modest at best. They are not the fastest either even with thousands of dollars spent...so while it's sad it's not a surprise.

I think we (J owners still) need to look at doing what I've seen lately...pair up with other GM small car clubs to keep the few modded Js around.

I know I won't ever sell mine...who knows where it will be in 1 year or even 10 years...but it will be in my driveway I can promise that! Just too much work, too much money and too much sweat, blood and tears poured into her to ever see it anywhere but with me!

Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?

agreed with all of the above. its really sad homie. i met will and jd back in 05 heatwave. they were the first j's that i actually got to hang out with and actually welcomed me with open arms. i was actually considering joining them at the time but then a few months later i think the club split in diffferent directions. but either way over the couple years ive meet alot of cool people and made some great friends at the bash's. i hope the guys still consider going to the bash . if not i wish them all the best of luck with everything.

as for what deron said about the j' im the same, ive put too much work, money, blood, sweat, and tears in to it to let it go. but everybody has different reasons for leaving the j' scene.hope to see ya out at the bash homie. you gotz ma numba!

ps. hers a few old school pics from when i first met will and jd and the others.
