Alas the time has come for i believe one of the best things that ever happened to the DFW area. The Texas J's car club. It started back in late 03 and has had some bumps in the road but went on. This all changed a few weeks ago when i stepped down as president seeing as i traded my car in. Amanda then took over but stepped down today. All of the originals but one remain.
The club has lost alot of members since last bash getting different cars and what not. Its sad to see her leave like this but all good things must come to an end. With the depletion of Js around the area and alot more delta bodies and other smaller vechicles taking over it would be hard to keep it going even for me if i still had my car.
So as of today September 18th 2008 the texas j's car club is no more. she may make a resurection in a few years but not any time soon. I want to think all the people that i have met through the gm bashes and all the good friends i have made through the car club.
As for the bash i will be there to hang with you all but im not sure how many will actually show from dfw. I want all my other big texas cities to hold it down in the J and D scene.
Texas J's
Rest In Peace
2003 - 2008
it really is a sad day...sorry to hear...i think everyone should post up pics they have from meeting with TexasJs throughout the years...ive got a few , ill post them up after work.
well hell. who do we contact for the small gm cars in dfw?
A dead platform will do this...I suspect we'll see more and more J clubs go by the wayside soon.
Really it's expected as the J was not a "classic" or highly sought after car and even modded, are modest at best. They are not the fastest either even with thousands of dollars spent...so while it's sad it's not a surprise.
I think we (J owners still) need to look at doing what I've seen lately...pair up with other GM small car clubs to keep the few modded Js around.
I know I won't ever sell mine...who knows where it will be in 1 year or even 10 years...but it will be in my driveway I can promise that! Just too much work, too much money and too much sweat, blood and tears poured into her to ever see it anywhere but with me!
Eh...old man with a Corvette now...it was bound to happen sooner rather than later right?

I see an A.I.C. controller
It has direct port nitrous injection
Yeah, a stand-alone fuel management system
