Today I parked my car, which is a 2.2l 1995 sunfire, removed the injector bracket, removed an injector, changed the o-rings (it was leaking). After that I put everything back together, try to start the engine. It turns like 3 times and after that I hear a "blocking" noise. Now the starter won't turn the engine, all I hear when I turn my key to start it is : "tok". My car has a manual transmission, so I tried pushing it with the help of somebody, get in the car after a decent speed, and release the clutch pedal on the first gear. Tried that about 4-5 times. Car won't even try to start. It's like something prevents the engine from turning... I need your opinion please. Thanks!
sounds like hydrolock.
pull your spark plugs and try and crank it.

Thanks, I'm going outside to do it right away.
You were right. I took off all 4 plugs, removed the injector/fuel pump fuses and cranked it until I did not see anything coming out of my cylinders. Now the engine starts, but it's hard as hell to start it, and I have to use the throttle or else it stalls. Also, I think my car is not safe for roads, because when I drive it, it emits a THICK and white smoke, and it runs very rough. I have new bosch platinum spark plugs in it, and they seem already blackened. I don't know if the fuel into the cylinders could have done that to them, and I don't know if I have to change them either. I would like some advice on how to get rid of the white smoke/rough engine. Thanks in advance!
did you change the injectors?? sounds like it is either running rich, or you have another problem....like blown head gasket...
I did not change the injectors. Everything was working fine except the injector leak before the hydrolock. I am not a mechanic, but I can clearly see the gaz coming out of my exhaust manifold's leaky spot. So I guess the white smoke is gaz... but why? Can it be the plugs?
hydrolock is caused by....you guessed it.....water. white smoke and hydrolock would lead most people to beleive blown head gasket. might be just a coincidence that it happened after you fixed the injector.
kind of....hydrolock is caused by liquid. it does not have to be water/coolant though. although that is probably the most common occurance, but i have seen fuel related hydrolock before as well.
What kind of fluid was coming out of the spark plugs when you pulled them? gas or antifreeze? You could have a blown head gasket or maybe an injector is stuck open. Judging by smoke color I'm going to lean towards head gasket
The car is up and running. Thanks for all the input. Turned out the white smoke was fuel. I dissasembled the injectors again and I found a cracked o-ring that let fuel go straight into the cylinder, causing it to hydrolock again and again. I fixed that, changed the plugs for good ones, and then I drove the car revving it like hell to get all this white smoke out of my exhaust system. After a day of hard driving, it all went back to normal. I'm glad I didnt damage my car. Thanks again!
Do yourself a favor and change the oil ASAP. There is a good chance that there is gas mixed with the oil if thats the case. You will wipe out your bearings if you have the gas in the oil.
