Cruise Control Not Working
Friday, August 18, 2006 1:22 PM
My cruise was working fine about a month ago. I swapped in a new motor a few weeks ago, hooked up the cruise, and now it doesn't work. I push the button for cruise, and nothing happens.

The VSS is hooked up, and I checked the clutch switch, which seems to be working.
I checked the fuse for the cruise in the fuse panel on the drivers side, and the fuse is fine.

Anything else I forgot to check? Does anyone know of any troubleshooting for the cruise module? Thanks!

Do the brake lights work? The cruise is also wired through the BOO switch. Which is why when you apply the brakes the cruise shuts off.

Can we assume there are no CEL codes? Some OBDII codes can disable systems, for example a faulty throttle or pedal position sensor can disable cruise on some vehicles.

No CEL codes at all.

Well, I figured it out. I looked at the clutch again, and turns out there are 2 clutch position sensors. One in front and one in back. I didn't notice the back one before. Turns out, it unscrewed far enough so that the button wasn't being pushed in. Screwed it in farther and it works! Thanks for the replies.
