alright ive bee searching for a couple hours now, and ive read hazenriders write up on putting a S/C on a pre 2000 car, im pretty clear on everything that has to be done, except for the computer issues,
i read that if i dont want to swap computers then i would have to upgrade the injectors, a FMU, better flowing fuel pump, and then i should be alright
as i see it rite now, to make this work, i will need
2000 starter cuz its smaller
injectors
FMU
better flowing fuel pump, is a walbro 255 lph to much?
EGR block off plate
is the higher temp thermostat necessary?
nething else i should know b4 i go through with saving the money and such for the install, im still reading on it, but maybe a few pointers from the guys with this done on a pre 2000 car, id like to avoid messing with the computer if possible, thanks
dont monkey with the thermostat.
my set up is in my registry and has been working over a year.
i tried many set ups, and the one u see listed is by far the best. i am on the stock injectors, FMU, and 255 fuel pump. but that is the stock s/c pulley.
only problem is you will have to clear a EGR code each time u start up the car(if u dont have a 99).
egr simulators are out there, but cause issues with map voltage.
so it would work other then getting a code each time? any problems from not having the egr i should know about? thanks
nope, been running egr less for a year. no problems. i get 30ish miles per gallon too.
just that stupid code. but it takes me 30 seconds to clear it when the car starts up. sorta annoying but better then a stalling, hesitating and rough running car with a egr simulator hooked up.
... or do the 99 reflash.
