1996 Chevrolet CavalierAbout This Vehicle: The thing I find most amusing about this car is that I really didn't want it to begin with. My wife and I split in sept '04, and since her vehicle was being financed in my name, that basically left her carless. I had a Trans Am (350 sb, .030 over,750 cfm Eldebrock, ported, polished, THE WORKS) and she had 10 years worth of my personal posessions. Well, as I'm sure anyone can understand, when one needs a place to live in a hurry, one is usually not too too picky, so my new apartment ended up being about an hour's ride to work, and all of a sudden I started paying $250.00 0r more per pay just for gas. WAY BOGUS!!! But never fear, I have a friend who flips cars as a sideline. He deals mostly with rice, but I am diehard bowtie, and he knows it. When he came across a decent Cavy at an auction, he called me at workto see if I wanted it, and of course, my head said yeah, but, well, let me ask you this, would you want to go from pushing 600 horses on the dyno to about 6 hamsters? That's what I thought anyway. I ended up buying it, and putting it on the road for under 1G, not bad, huh? Traded the T/A to my wife for all of my posessions, and then some, and saved A LOT in gas. Well, now, lets see, no mortage, no nagging wife, 60k/year, a tast for exquisite cars, and a car that stands out about as much as a Civic at a rice show. We all see where this is going. Bottom line, I now love the car, (try whipping an '86 T/A through traffic at 108, and not breaking a sweat, NOT GONNA HAPPEN!!!!)Hey, I even take the back roads to work now with ease. And believe me, after six months with this car, it definately stands out in a crowd. Body Style: Coupe
