no...pandemics of stds are not mainly from hookers. they are from sexual promiscuity of all sorts, mainly the open populace. of the few places that do legally allow prostitution, they have checks (usually monthly) for everything. its a morality issue, plain and simple.
There are several STD's that can be spread long before a monthly check would reveal it. The level of ignorance when it comes to STD's in this country is alarming!
Lets take Herpes for example. There is no way to tell positivly if somone has it through a blood test. The only way a person kows they have it is if they go to the doctor while they have the outbreak and the doctor swabs the infected area and sends it to a lab.
That is just Herpes don't get me started on HIV or any of the others.

well, im taking law right now, and prostitution isn't actually "illegal" its just the selling for money, thats the illegal part, so technically, you could say, if you have sex with me, i'll come clean your house for a week, or here take this teddy bear and lets go have sex. the only illegal things of prostitution is the selling it for money and the soliciting

But wouldn't any compensation for a sexual act be considered prostitution?
