I'm installing aftermarket fog lights to my 04 cavalier, I want to use the headlight wiring to switch a relay to turn on the fog lights. When I tested the three wires for the headlight they were all hot, even with the lights switched off.
Is there a switched ground that turnes on the headlights?
You can use a relay that your headlight switch can turn on and off . the headlight switch turns on and off the ground to the headlights you can use the ground the same ground to run the relay.
Thanks for the help, I realized when I tested the wires I used a chasis ground and duh of course all the wires would be hot the ground completes the circuit.
It's finally going to be over freezing here today I'll probably hook them up today.
