So I'm doing the headlights swap from 95-99 to 00-02. Yes I know there are countless forms with the how to's but I am looking for the pin out on the c101 connector. As I went and got a harness from a 00-02 cavalier from a donor.
This what I have atm:
-All signal and park lights work properly and display on the cluster right.
-Headlights work and appear to brighten and dim as normal BUT the dash cluster always has the bright light indicator on.
-Finally no drl lights which doesn't bother me at all
Also my car is a 98 z24 Vert 5spd
why dont you just snip the blue wire in the cluster? i still havent done that since my swap lol. i also did this swap and snipped the wire in the cluster on my 96.

are both your lights bright? one of mine was dim until i ran a jumper wire.
nah they are both dim and the both are bright
What wire you talking about snipin by the way?
Is that blue wire you speak of the same one that disables the DRLs?
do the DRL mod for the 95-99 model from the sticky
So this will fix the bright light indicator from staying on all the time? And make it work correctly? Or will this just disable the DRLs which are already seemingly disabled some how or another.
If it does can you explain how it will maybe? Don't mean to ask alot of questons jsut trying to understand a little better how the headlight systems works here. Seems kinda jacked up lol
yes it will. the reason you lost DRLs during the swap is because of the harness being different,
why didn't you just get a 98 sunfire GT headlight harness then you have all the plugs and fogs?????????? it would be a plug and play setup
JBO since July 30, 2001

wait a minute... SOOOO if I get a 1995 sunfire GT wiring harness... I can haz 2000-2002 cavalier headlights? Is it direct swap? I already do not have driving lights. (stock) Are all the bulb sockets the same?

so this is news to me.. will this harness also work to get my 99 fogs back?
Umm I'm pretty sure the 95-99 Sunfire GTs didn't have fog lights. The round lights in the 95-99 GT bumper are the turn signals. 00-02 GTs had both the round turn signals and foglights.
Yeah just found a pic on google to refresh my memory. The 95-99 GTs had round clear turn signal housings and no fog lights. The 00-02 GTs had round amber turn signal housings, but they also had fog lights.

yep, back to the drawing board, lol. I might just make a custom harness then. I am sure I could add my fog wiring to the sunfire's headlight wiring setup for 95. Idunno...
Ok so here's what I did. I got a harness from a 96 sunfire (no fogs) and it's a direct plug and play.
The only issues I have atm are
1) DRL light blinks because I dont have DRLs anymore
2) When I switch to high beam lights (they do brighten) the DRL light blinks and the bright light indicator doesn't come on.
Gonna do the DRL disable thing maybe this weekend and hopefully that will take care of the DRL light blinking issue
Think I can live with just not having the bright light indicator come on when i switch to brights
why you just do it now? its a simple snip... from the cluster. lol.
work 6 to 6 lol and well i just put the whole front end back on from doing the type J front and wanna drive it. not to mention just got exhaust done today as well. But who knows I may get it tomorrow
Ok so I got around to doing this finally lol. So the outcome is everything works as it should I just the bright light indicator on the cluster doesn't come on when I brighten my lights. Oh and no DRLs
