The second link will answer most of your questions, but the first one is a good, basic write up on general exterior questions you might run into

Thanks for the links. I looked in there and they didn't say exactly if it works or not. A lot of good info and easy to get list.

95-02 Sunfire
- 95-02 Sunfire Headlights(with plastic mount, its what bolts down the headlight)
- 95-02 Front Bumper
- 95-05 Fenders
- 95-02 Sunfire Hood
- 2 x 9007 High/Low Beam Bulbs
- 2 x 3157 Turn signal Bulbs(any 3rd Gen has these for turn signals so not necessary unless you need new bulbs, you can use what came with your car)
- 2 x 194 Bulbs for turn signals(any 3rd Gen(except 00-02 Cavaliers) have these for turn signals so not necessary unless you need new bulbs, you can use what came with your car)
- From the donor car's wiring harness, or two 9007 headlights sockets(unless you have a 00-05 Cavalier, these already use this bulb for headlights) and two 194 corner light sockets(Only needed if you have a 00-02 Cavalier, all the rest have this bulb already wired on your side markers or part of your turn signals)

This is the list of everything you would need to put an 95-02 sunfire front on any 3rd gen jbody
So Basically all you would need is the bumper. I dont know a lot about sunfires but you may need different foglights depending on what bumper you switch to. (I think the gt and base models have different fog lights),

03-05 Sunfire
- 03-05 Sunfire Headlights(with plastic mount, its what bolts down the headlight)
- 03-05 Sunfire Turn signals
- 03-05 Front Bumper
- 95-05 Fenders
- 03-05 Sunfire Hood
- 2 x H11 Low Beam Bulbs
- 2 x H9 High Beam Bulbs
- 2 x 3157 Turn signal Bulbs(any 3rd Gen has these for turn signals so not necessary unless you need new bulbs, you can use what came with your car)
- 2 x 194 Bulbs for turn signals(any 3rd Gen(except 00-02 Cavaliers) have these for turn signals so not necessary unless you need new bulbs, you can use what came with your car)
- From the donor car's wiring harness, or two H11 and two H9 headlights sockets and two 194 corner light sockets(Only needed if you have a 00-02 Cavalier, all the rest have this bulb already wired on your side markers or part of your turn signals)
- Corner Light brackets, this is basically a bar that bolts to the bottom/side of the corner, which then bolts to the frame in the front next to where the headlights bolt down(Click for Picture)
- Bumper Brackets, these brackets bolt from the metal bumper support to the bumper cover(Click for Picture 1 , Click for Picture 2)

That is what you would need to switch to the 03-05 front

To answer the Last part of your question, with the right parts you can switch your front end with any 95-05 cavalier or sunfire, and the rear can be switched around some for example.

If you have a Sunfire coupe you have to keep a sunfire coupe rear end but you can switch to a different years relatively easy

Cavalier coupes and 4doors and sunfire 4doors share the same style rear end, and can be interchanged relatively easy

To help a little more, 95-02 Sunfires are all the same. So anything from a 95 will fit your 00. So basically all you will need is the bumper. As long as you have the round turn signals and fog lights, then you have everything you need. It really only changes when you go to a 03+. Hope this helps, good luck!

Thanks for the info guys.
So sounds like all I need is the front and rear bumper from the 95 body and they bolt on mine without modding or anything. I was reading some where and a guy was talking about the crash pad is different?
I have the round turn signals and fog lights already cuz of the bumper that's on it. So I would use the turn signals and delete the fog lights or remount them.
Question about the rear bumper...mine has the 2 round lights on the bottom for reverse lights. Would I need to get the tail lights or just the reverse lights from the older sunfire?

Well as far as the crush guards go best bet is to try and mount the fron. And you can remount the fog lights in the new bumper. The rear bumper should be the same around including the crush guard but I'm not 100% sure abt that.

Ok ill try that. Anything bad if I remove or mod the crush pad if needed?,
Well the 95 has a spot for the round turn signals in the bumper. Could I replace those with the fog lights or is that a bad idea.

the fogs and turns are interchangeable last I checked. If you do modify the crush guard... it will only need modified a small amount to work... so it should be okay.

Sweet can't wait to get it done. Off subject is there any place that makes good performance parts for these cars?

If you change to the 95-99 rear bumper you will need the 95-99 trunk filler panel. On the 95-99 and 03-05 Sunfires the reverse lights are on the trunk filler panel. You would have to re-route the wiring through the trunk lid for them.

Although the market for J's isn't as big as certain other cars you can still find performance parts in quite a few places.
Turbotech, RK Sport and MRZ Performance are some places that have some good stuff. My suggestion though is to research and find the part that will best suite your needs then shop around to get the best possible price.

Also do some searching in the performance forum...

No they're not. The fog lights are bigger than the turn signals.

As everyone else has said, you will only need the front bumper cover from a 95-99 GT. I personally would also go ahead and remove the entire impact bar (this is what the crush guard is attached to, it's held on by just 4 bolts IIRC) from the car you get the bumper cover off of. This will ensure a proper fit. I would also just use the turn signals and do away with the fog lights since there's really no good place/way to mount them with the 95-99 GT front bumper cover IMO. Also, FYI 95-99 GTs have clear turn signal lenses which you may want to swap to in place of your 00 orange ones if you want a cleaner look. They're the exact same size, just clear.

As far as the rear goes, again all you would need would be the 95-99 GT rear bumper cover and as Shadowfire said, the trunk panel so you have reverse lights. Running the wiring front behind the bumper cover up to the trunk panel is easy. Your 00 taillights are exactly the same so you won't need to get those. Again, I would probably go ahead and remove the entire impact bar (and rear crush guard) to ensure proper fitment, but that's just my $.02.
