Okay, i did a cavalier front end swap on my sunfire and still cant seem to figure out my wiring...i did read the front end swap sticky but it did absolutely no good to me at all. i have lights but i hate tht my brights come on slightly when my lows are on...if someone has done this or knows which wires should be connected together it would much appreciated. Thanks
there is a thread on here somewhere i found.. your going from the 9007 to 9006 and 9005 right?
These should be the colors of your stock wires:
High Beam Ground = Green
Positive = Black
Low Beam Ground = Tan
-Your green wires need to be connected to one of the wires from your 9005 connectors giving them a switched ground.
-Tan wires will connect to one from the 9006 connectors for their switched ground.
-Now you can tie the remaining 2 wires from each of the 9005 and 9006 connectors together with the one stock black wire to give them a positive.
**Biggest thing to remember is that the headlights work off of a switched ground. When doing headlight swaps most people make the mistake of assuming the black wire is a ground wire so they are testing for the others to be positives.
Hope this helps.
so it really doesnt matter which one of the grounds get connected? just pick one
It doesn't matter which wire of the 9005/9006 connector is positive or negative. As long as each connector has one positive and one ground it will work. Each connector will have it's own ground wire from the stock harness, but both connectors will share the one positive wire. The main thing is determining which ground wire controls high and which controls low. The list of colors should help with that though. If not all you need is a test light.
