hey guys..you know those covers that go over the top while its down . They seem like they are rare, are they hard to come by ? i have come by a 2000 model top cover(boot) in good shape but wondering if its worth selling of if i should keep it.
the one you mention you have is even more rare.. 2000 convertibless (only year with that headlight phase) are a one piece design compared to the 95-99 models.. how much are you looking to get for it? PM me a price and ill most likely take it lol
do you even have a vert j? if not, then why keep it? its not going to go up in price. ive owned both kinds and both are easy enough to sell. toss it on ebay (or sell to azn). just out of curiousity...is it tan? ive not seen any other colors in that year
it is not tan, its its a gray .
and yes, i do have a vert J. i have a 2000 vert Z24. i used to have 2 of them but sold one. so now all i have is my 95 z and the 2000 vert. so yes, i could keep it. but my very is not a show car or anything, its just a daily driver and i need cash. but im not in a rush.
I am always looking for a backup to my white 2000 'vert boot.
glws but looks like youre asking waaaay too much in your classified ad. you could maybe get 100+ship out of it, and thats about twice what the 3 piece boots go for, but if anyone buys it at 175+ then theyre crazy
somethings value is only as much as someone is willing to pay for it. If someone wants one bad enough and no others are available then its value is what its set at. But like i said, im in no hurry to sale it, i dont need to lower the price just to sale it in haste. If it doesn't sell then ill consider lowering my price to something it would more likely go for. Ive sold too many rare things in the past at a quick sale price only to have someone come on the next day and offer me more than i asked , but its too late.
i understand the premise of supply and demand and if youre willing to wait for a very long period of time then hey, maybe you will get lucky after all. but that still doesnt actually "make" it worth the amount youre asking...it just means someone doesnt know any better.
i was offering the pricing as a friendly suggestion since you said you needed the cash. i have personally sold one of these before and it was dyed black and it went for the price i mentioned above. and that was about 3 years ago when there were more buyers for the J market and even then it sat idle for a few months before a buyer came forward with the $. just remember...just because they didnt make many of them doesnt make it worth more. if that were the case then you could sell our rear seats for mad $$...but without any buyers they arent worth jack @!#$. i couldnt even find someone to buy a white interior from the verts for $250 last month.

the J market has almost completely evaporated over the past few years and there are even fewer vert owners these days. again, good luck getting that price. i was just trying to be helpful.
i would be interested but not for 175, like tabs said 100+ shipping ok. Glws tho. My girl lucked out and got it with her vert. Im looking for one but.im not nutz about buying one now. But hey good luck man.
tabs - hey man dont think im tryin to be smart or anything, i actually appreciate the advice with the price range. and like i said, if its not sold and i still need cash ill bring down to a more acceptable range. but just for you guys
btw..i loved the photo of the vert in rain.
good job
i want that boot! lol maybe summer if you still have it at a lower range
The one-piece ones go for around $100 on Ebay all the time. Anything less is a real bargain, and anything more you'd have to find one of those "suckers born every minute"...
I've seen tan, grey, black, and white one-piece covers. I've owned two tan and one black myself.. picked up the like-new black one on Ebay for about $90 last year.
John.
i <3 lenko!
now that im thinking about it i may have seen a white one too...but def never one of the black ones.
lenko: have you ever tracked down pics of the elusive black vert vinyl interior like we had discussed a long time ago? ive seen pics of the tan maybe twice. just wondering is all...
sorry guys but i dont have any older vert to try this on...but will the 2k cover work on the older verts???
it could probably be made to work, but shouldnt have the exact same dimensions as the older ones, no
i picked one up last summer and it dont fit my 95 very well at all. Havent played with it much tho. Collecting dust now.
There is no black vinyl from the factory... just the brown and the white.

Brown, Really???? Pics??? And what is this red/black interior also?? i know those came on sunfires, but I never seen one.
Brown and white vinyl came on the Cavalier convertibles. I have pics somewhere.. no black vinyl that I've ever seen.
There are red, teal (seafoam?) and blue interiors. The red and teal are from older Sunfires.. the blue I've seen on many base model sedan Cavaliers. The part of the Compnine site where you can look that stuff up (in terms of numbers) seems to be offline at the moment...
Hmm interesting. I have the white in my car, but I never knew about the Brown vinyl at all. I have also seen the blue, but not teal and not red. If you come across the pics post them up, I have yet to see them, and i think it would be interesting.
Thanks Lenko!!!!
lenko: did the red interior come in fire verts? ive only seen it in the coupes and the teal/white/tan or the crappy gray/gray-brown in the verts
I don't know.. if it did, I've never seen one. I don't believe so.
That part of the Compnine site is still down "for a couple of days" my arse...
If anyone has one of the 3 piece sets for a 95-99, I'm lookin for a set.
1999 Sunfire GT Convertible.
Nothing special to anyone but me.
