This pertains to an OLD group Purchase that A-Plus "Jason" ran back in 2005. I was just talking to a fellow org member about it, and decided to post the PDF here to ensure it says around. These are Pneumatic hood struts.

Funny you post this I was just trying to remember the company that made these.
I have to pick up some for Satch and Tupper.
Want hub spacers? Shoot me a PM.

annoying they don't work for fiberglass hoods

Thanks meck I was going to buy some but if they don't work for fg they won't work for cf
yeah the struts are pretty powerful... they will bust the fiberglass and carbon fiber, ask me how i know, haha
3 people i know have them on f/g hoods and havent had a problem. one of them is moi
well i didn't have good luck with them at all, so maybe im a rare case then
Ooohhh...I'm interested..
Oh I thought these were a factory option on new Cavs, so I've been searching junk yards forever.
Put me down for a set.
Mine are on my steel hood. So no idea on the fiberglass hoods. I know one member made some extra support brackets and molded them into his fiberglass hood.

It's the same thing as the hood latch on a fiberglass hood. As long as you fab up a bracket to better distribute the force it's not going to break.
my thick quality rk hood has held them no problem. adams riped outta his white boy, so we just fiberglass the brackets to it.
White boy hoods were a wet paper bag with a little gel coat on them, so I can see that.
I have a set of these on my Altima which has an aluminum hood, they work great and doesnt seem to want to buckle the hood when closing them.
"Oil Leak ? What oil Leak ? Oh, Thats Just The Sweat From All The HorsePower!!"
i had this kit on my FG rksport hood as well for quite a while without any problems. But i lost the shocks when the car go painted and cant find replacments.
Do you guys have any pics of the brackets you made then? I have the RK hood and since i still have them maybe I'll try to put them on
I had these on my old car and have been wanting to get them for my new sedan cause i hate having the prop rod.

it should come with the brackets, you don't make them

yes I know... but im talking about reinforcement brackets to attach the strut brackets to
Haven't actually made brackets, but the concept is simple. If the strut has too much force and can break though a fiberglass hood. Just rivet a strip of strong metal to the fiberglass and then rivet the including mounting bracket to the strip, distributing the force.
