I always thought it was flex point for the body, I remember a thread where somebody tried to with a coupe...
i would guess on a flex point as-well.... If i was doing it, i'd start by welding the pinch weld in there solid across. Than butt weld sheet metal from one side to the other.
that what i was leaning toward doing. pulling the back glass out and making a piece to fill it all in . i had thoughts of Leading it in but ive never done lead work before. i filled this area in on my beretta and its hasnt cracked yet

It's definitely a flex point.
I would do something like Gary said, that's probably going to be your best approach.
thats what ill prob do anyway

You're not gonna want to lead it in. The heat will warp the whole thing. Metals are thin.
been done before.. everytime i have see it done its cracks... they are there for a reason flex point..
im gonna weld a piece of flat stock in there to hopefuly take out some of the flex. plus i plan to weld the panels together so theres less flex. if any one has pics of these spots shaved postem up .

It's definitely not a flex point on the Sunfire coupes. When I had mine painted, they removed the outer panel, and it was just held on with urethane adhesive.

i would think its not cuz its been a few months since i did my beretta and the filler hasnt cracked. but either way im gonna weld some flat metal stock in there and then sheet metal over top of it to smooth it all out. i need to get my back window out first
