Just a quick simple question.. From what I have read and researched my hopefull swap of 00-02 headlights to 95-99 headlights for style variety should be a direct bolt on match i.e. mounting brackets should match right up.. Now my question is, knowing the 00-02 headlights are slightly larger and the front bumper is shaped different under the headlights to make room for said lights.. Am I going to get a huge surprise when I order my 95-99 drift kit front bumper and 95-99 headlights? Im worried the bumper cover wont match up to the actual honeycomb bumper underneath etc.. Also any speciffic mods needed to match the older hood and headlights to the newer front end? Any pointers will be greatly appreciated =] Also im looking into side skirts. I run the VTX model which is the 4 door sedan. Any pointers on skirts from which kits work best? Thanks again
so your going from 00-02 to 95-99 headlights? if so you need the following
a headlight harness from a 95-99 model. unless you plan on doing some rewiring.
you need to either get fenders with the tac-welded corner light brackets. or save yourself the headache and buy those one piece style 95-99 projectors. ( you cant use the 00-02 headlight brackets)
you will need to get the crush guard for the 95-99 models
and all hoods from 95-02 are the same. EXACTLY THE same
That was the plan, to buy the one piece headlight/corner Halo projector lights for the 95-99 front bumper style. Also buying same model year front bumper "Drift" You mentioned --you cant use the 00-02 headlight brackets-- meaning those one piece headlights wont bolt up to my 01 Cavy's existing bracket?? From what I was able to gather from a local college's GM BSEP bodyshop instructer. As far as the front bumper goes it should instal no problem and hopefully fill the gap to make up the difference in headlight size but its just those little "oh @!#$.. this wont fit" surprises im worried about is all lol. Thanks again
Oh and whats the 95-99 crush guard?
I wrote a how to on this, which is up in the FAQ section of the site.

The crush guard is basically the bumper...just sits behind the "bumper cover". You can trim it with a sawzall til the new bumper fits good over it, or replace it with the 95-99 one. The wiring harness is really only needed to get the pigtails for the bumper signal lights and corner lights if i recall correctly.
Also, instead of buying fenders with corner brackets, you can just drill out the welds. Hell we pryed the welds off the junker at the yard bending them up and still mananged to bend them back and use them.
Can't think of anything else that might give you a problem....
Convert 00+ headlights to 95-99
why use pigtails when he can swap over the whole harness? also when you get the one piece projectors, they will have their own mounting brackets. the metal brackets for the 00-02 headlight really are just an alignment guide for the 00-02 headlights.
another thing you may run into if you dont get the tack welded corner light brackets from the 95-99 fenders is. the mounting holes for the 95-99 drift bumper.

Cool, didn't know the harness was a plug and play.
