so ive got a 97 z24 with projector headlights, and im looking for opinions on low beams. i was thinking PIAA intense white, PIAA extreme white ultra, or Silverstars......im lookin for them to be bright...and white. Im also playin with the idea of HID's, im just apprehensive because of cost and im not a huge fan of wiring, especially with the DRL's. throw me some opinions

yea ive got 9005s and 9006s. im just looking for the best, brightest, whitest light bulb. and im mainly worried about the low beams. the projection headlights seem to kill the amount of light the stock headlights put out, and im not sure about going to HIDs because of the cost unless anyone can point me towards a solid and inexpensive HID kit thats not too terribly hard to wire, and my biggest concern with wiring HIDs would be how to go about it with daytime running lights. so im mainly looking for opinions. i tried searching for this kind of info on this sight, it seemed all scattered and a bit dated though. so any opionions would be greatly appreciated

most HId kits are plug and play, no wiring involved. cost is usually under 100 even for a good set. and as for your daytime lights. thats controlled by the highbeam 9005 bulbs not the 9006 bulbs.

I've got those same projectors, both bulbs are 9005. Get a 9005 35w 5000k or 6000k HID kit from ddmtuning.com and you'll be fine for your low beams. 5000k is pure white while 6000k has a hint of blue.

You can leave the DRL's since they're a part of your high beams and the bulbs that come with the projectors are pretty bright.

look closer at both those bulbs... the one low beam 9005s had some of the mounting points shaved down so i will plug into the stock 9006 harness plug.

ah thanks a ton for the info Cruisin4DrCav. pretty sure im gonna head down that road. ive got one more question though. should i go with the Raptor kit of the DDM kit. it looks to me like the only difference is ballast size and a small price gap so it probably doesnt matter???????

I've got the Raptor kit and it's been good for at least a year now. There is plenty of room to mount both ballasts so either one will work fine. I mounted my passenger side by the PCM and the driver side on the "bong" just in case you were wondering.
