BS, One year I turned on my wipers and the passenger side one ripped the rubber off. They'll move.

LOL when it snows, only one will stand up to prevent freezing, the passenger side doesn't while every other car out there does lol and mine was frozen on one side and none moved =(
you have a none stock wiper then.. because none of the jbodies know are able to lift the wipers completely.
on my 03 neither of the wipers go up because of these two damm springs that are too tight i guess

I usually put a piece of cardboard on the windshield overnight... no scraping, no stuck wipers. Just chuck it in the trunk during the day...

Why not just set the wiper arms on the little nubs that are on the wiper cowl? That's what I do and it keeps the blades from coming in contact with the windshield. I figured that's what the little nubs were for anyway.

newer cavs dont even go down that far for some odd reason.
Hmmm. I wonder why that is? Maybe the components on the older cars are just worn a bit and there's some play room?
...A quick search on autozone shows that the wiper motor is different on a '04 compared to my '96 fire. I'm guessing the different motor has a slightly smaller range then.
Why not let the car warm up a couple minutes and use the defroster to melt?
If there's ice strong enough to hold down the wipers, It won't do much good if the wipers are moving anyway.
Thats my approach anyhow.

i know its wierd my 97 sunfire did my my 99 Z24 doesn't you can;t even deject them on the splines to make it work

wiper park position was deleted in 98, i had to install a new wiper transmission to use my 03 rk ramair hood, damn wipers hit the cowl. lol
I replaced mine with 2004 Pontiac Grand Am wiper blades. They worked out fine, I can lift them up to avoid freeze over during nsow storms.
