Does anyone know where to get some aftermarket taillights for a 2003 sunfire? the cars is yellow and in the process of geting blacked out and was looking for some smoked or black taillights, just cant find them anywhere tho.
I smoked my own. Took me exactly 5 beers to pull them, prep them, paint them with VHT, and reinstall them.
I'll do them for you. For the low low price of a 6 pack and a can of VHT you too can have tinted tails.
do u have any pics of what they look like now?
just use some VHT and call it good. I am yet to find any aftermarket lights (except the marker lights) for a Sunfire
----
In fact I do.
I did one reverse lens for the pic to show the difference. They are both done now...

VHT is the way to go now. I had mine covered by Chazz back in the day, using a blackout film much like that of window tint. Got my taillights, third brake light and all the side markers done.
VHT is a good prodct, but you can easily mess things up with it too. i have sen many lights with lots of orange peel on them, and some that are so dark you cant see through them. i would recomend trying it out on something else first to get a good technique down.
be meaning to ask this for a while, i did mine, but haven cleared them yet, any specific kind of clear coat i should use or just some universal stuff?
I didn't clear mine. I pulled them and then cleaned them really well with some brake parts cleaner. I put 2 or 3 thin coats of VHT on them until they were dark enough for my satisfaction.
yeah, mine came out kinda dull, so i want to clear them so they have some shine
if i could find a set of altezzas i would probly do that, but i doubt ill ever find a set lol
i had to buy my altezza's from ebay about 4 years ago, didn't like how the fitted so i did a trade for stockers and tinted them. looks 100X better IMO
150.0 DB, Loudest in Atlantic Canada, Street Class A.
Next year 155 DB
yeah i love how my tinted tail lights look on my car, the silver plus my rims may it look good, maybe some day ill make myself a one off set of tail lights just for me! lol
Anyone have a pair of smoked ones or aftermarket that they are willing to sell?
Dude, it's too easy to do them yourself. Go to VatoZone, get a can of VHT for $15. Pull your trunk liner back, and remove the 3 10mm nuts securing each of your taillights. I think the screws on the third brake light are T10 torx. I did half the work for you...
