I don't have fog lights because I have a 2000 sunfire. I would like to take out my front signal bulbs ,take out the amber cover and put in a clear cover with halogen lights.
I was thinking of putting amber cluster LEDs inside the headlamp. But will the cluster pack of leds take the heat from HID bulbs that I will have in the lamps? Will affect the light if
I was also thinking of keeping my from signal lights where they are and just putting in brighter bulbs and replacing the amber lense with a clear lense. Then I would have to modify the wiring so the bulbs can be switch on/off from with a switch and still have them wired for turn signal flashing.
Is more practical to just wire in a cluster pack of LEDs inside the halogen housing. Mounting it behind the existing bulb.
Any idea's.
the most practical thing would be to find a 200-02 sunfire GT bumper, as they have both fogs and turn signals

Agreed.
Using higher wattage bulbs in those housings will cause the housing to melt.
And really most fog lights don't work and are there for looks more than anything else.
The only factory fogs I found that actually worked for their intended purpose were on the 95 - 99 Z24's. Running an 886 bulb instead of the 881's that came with the lights helped the output without placing too much of a load on the electrical system or melting any housings. Plus they had full adjustability to set the light to where it actually helped you see.
I miss my Z fogs.
Good luck.

Thank you Dave and JBO!
Thanks for the advice. Theres no way I can get the latest cavalier bumper on a 2000 sunfire right?
Anyone know what size of projectors are recommended for 2000 sunfire headlight housings. Where do I get the clear covers. Is trailblazer the only one selling them?

All 1995 - 1999 Sunfire GTs had clear front bumper signals, as opposed to the 2000 - 2002 GTs and SEs that had amber signals. The part number for the clear front bumper signals is:
#5978215 (the lights are interchangeable, meaning the part number is the same for both sides). You can get a brand new pair of them on
GM Parts Direct for
$62.89 ($24.97 x 2 = $49.94 + $12.95).

To give you an idea of what it looks like, here's a picture of my former '02 Sunfire GT (notice the clear front bumper signals):
