i was wondering if anyone has made a custom harness for the mirrors. i have a set with the switch but no relay is there a way around the relay or maybe another kind of relay i could use?
Im working on a way to use them without the toyota mirror. I know of a way, jusat need to find the time to play with it.
I plan to post info once I find out more.

anything further on this project dsm?
Haven't had a chance to try. I have an actual relay for the mirrors so it hasnt been a big priority. That and working 12+ hours a day and having a family doesn't help.
The idea is basically a timed relay. There are some available for use with car alarms and the like that are programmable for a set time.
There is also a way to wire up 3 12v relays together that will work the same way. I have a wiring diagram at work showing how, I just thought I'd like to try it out before posting info. Last thing I would want is to have someone mess up their mirrors trying a method i suggested.
Doing a Google search on power folding mirror relays will bring up more info if you would like to do a little research yourself.
The toyota relay has so many wires as it also controls the mirror adjustment. I plan to use my stock switch for adjusting the mirrors so I will only be using like 3-4 wires for the folding operation.
I have tested and have notes on which wires open and which wires close the mirrors. There is an option of using 2 monetary switches to manually open and close the mirrors without the use of a relay.

do you have any information on wiring in the toyo relay?
I'm pretty sure you won't find a way around the relay as far as the power folding goes(at least I couldn't). As for the mirror glass I'm using a US power mirror switch for mine. If you want the power folding to work try finding the relay from a Toyota MR2 with power folding mirrors. They use the same relay.
