I actually have the same question about the dual in dual out harness. I've never used one before, but on my old GAGT, I couldn't have used that. Always had a bulb out warning on the dash. Had to jump the plug with a resistor to get it to go away.
I am going to call them this morning and figure out what it is and if I need it. I will let you know.
I called them and they said that I don't need that dual in dual out thing as long as I buy a hi/low kit. They said that I would have everything I needed to hook the lights up with just the hi/low kit. They didn't mention anything about that other wiring harness that you posted David. Thank you for the info. I suppose I will order that extra wiring harness just in case.
The extra harness is used to power the lights off the the battery instead of using the stock wiring. Some people have had issues with not getting enough power from the stock wiring to get both of the balasts to fire properly so you might have one of the lights either not work, or flicker. Others have also had issues with the stock wiring melting from the initial startup of the lights because it is a lot more than normal headlights.
Also as stated before, make sure you disable your drls before hooking up the HID lights. The DRL signal isn't enough to power the HIDs properly and will cause a ballast to fail, (and I don't believe that that would be covered under warranty).
I have 3 sets of HID's from DDM, and I have a harness hooked up to each one. It is probably one of the best purchases I have made for my car.
Hope this helps you!
Thank you guys. I purchased the extra harness with my kit. Hopefully I will have them this week. I have my DRL's already disabled, I just pulled the relay.
You will love the HIDS....trust me lol

This is true but as long as they are aimed properly they arent to bad.

They can hate me all they want. I purchased HIDs strictly for safety purposes. A long time ago I nailed a deer because I didn't see it on time. It will be nice to drive comfortably at night. That is exactly why I purchased the 5000K with the greatest visual illumination.
So.... I have a 2000 Z24... and i want to put some HID's... so the kit is 35W 9007 Hi/Lo .. correct? do we really need the slim ballast? and I want the best light so whats how many Kelvins??? 5000k-8000K? which one? I want the whitest color not blueish...
Also how do i Disable my DRL's.. i know there is a sticky but i cant understand it... i know that i need to cut the darkest blue wire ... do I need to take out the dash to get it to it??? and which End I need to ground? the one from the switch or the one coming from the other end? PCM or wherever is coming from..
no you dont have to have the slim ballast but it is the best to work with, 5000-6000k will be the brightest white, with the 00-02 J's the DRL's are wired through the BCM inside the car behind the driver side kick panel.

He'll only be compromising the safety of others if he doesn't aim them right.... I have had HID's in many vehicles, and when aimed propperly there is virtually no glare.
Im fighting the urge to place an order with DDM right now

Why is it that when someone posts a thread about HIDs that people get all whiny about how other drivers will be affected by them. They aren't bad. Regular halogens can easily have the same effects HIDs do as far as "disturbing other drivers." 1,000 lumens of light directly in the pupil will blind the same as 5,000 lumens. I am with lafonjef on this one. If they are properly aimed, they will be just fine. Don't just go assuming that everyone that gets HIDs is a ricy newb that has no knowledge of lighting. If everybody lived their lives with consideration of what EVERYBODY ELSE wanted, nobody would have anything they wanted.
DDM tuning's HID kits are great. I use to have one. Absolutely 0 problems!!
I will have pics this weekend of the install. I am suppose to have them tomorrow, but don't know if I will have time to install them.

that's not true at all. what about all the car's that come stock with "HID'S"? don't tell me they don't produce any glare cuz they were installed correctly because they do.
srry but they can be ridiculous. i usually keep a pretty neutral ground on this subject cuz i love the way they look. but i won't deny for a second that they're annoying as @!#$ while actually coming at me head on while driving. and distracting.
if you read my thread

i think i might of had my driver side wiring short out... and due to my is gonna be my guess.. so i just ordered the hi/low 8000k kit before my problem gets worse

DDM Tuning wrote:We sell bulbs with kelvin ratings that range from 3000K to 12000K. 3k being yellow and 12k being the bluish in color. The most popular color we sell is 6000k. That would be described as white with a hint of blue. For maximum visibility, we would recommend staying within 4500K-6000K. The closer the color is to natural sunlight, the more you will see on the road.

LOL! I have decided to just give in
. When I have the money, I will be ordering the 35w 4500k for the fog lights and low beams on mine and my mom's Vibes! I am curious to see if they really are as great as everyone makes them out to be.

I couldn't agree more! I actually seem to be "blinded" more by the cars with factory projectors and HIDs then I am by cars with regular headlight housings with HIDs. The only thing I hate about HIDs is when people get the ones that are blue as all hell. Those are annoying and I can't understand for the life of me how they can see
anything with them.
Well Carrie, you can see 6000k 55w bulbs this next weekend at the WIGM meet since I have them in my high and lows, and the 6000k 35w in my fogs, all from DDM. I didn't get the slim ballasts, I ordered
these. And it looks like they just dropped the price by $5 a set. They are only $25 for the 35w and $35 for the 55w... Also they dropped the price of the harness to $10 for it. Boo to me... and ordering a couple of weeks to soon. I could have saved $20.....
They are always dropping and raising their prices. I was checking out the slim ballast ones I am going to order earlier this week and they were $40.00 a pair. Checked them again today and they're down to $35.00
. Yes, I will hopefully be able to check them out in Kenosha next weekend. Can't wait!
