I have a 2001 z24. I bought some 8500k xenon blue bulbs both head & fog lights off ebay. (eurodesigns)
Well i put in the headlight ones two days ago, works great, was jsut trying to put in the fogs, i plugged them in, and afetr a few seconds there smoking an burning hot! good thing i didnt screw em in before i tried em.
the bulb # on the new ones are 893, though said compatible with 880's too.
Whats the problem? help please.
"A goal without a plan is just a wish"
I checked eurodezigns website and the bulbs have a higher wattage - 37.5w for 893 vs. 27w for the 880. wouldnt think that be too big of a deal though. but Ive heard of people putting in 50w bulbs with no problem, can anybody else help?
my opinion the problem is you bought em from e bay

I agree Ive had 55watt fogs and no issues. Ebay for HIDs is a horrible idea.
Go to DDM Tuning and get a quality set of HIDs.

I think bigfoot is blurry,
that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra
scary to me. There's a large, out-of-focus monster, roaming the countryside.

doesnt sound like he bought HIDs
You're right, didn't catch that at first.
You're overloading the factory wiring with those bulbs and melting the harness most likely. Too much power draw.
