LED mirror wiring
Monday, August 28, 2006 10:43 AM
I just installed a pair of manual LED mirrors for my 01 Sunfire GT.

Funny how APC mirrors come with written instructions, and not very detailed.

Can anyone point me out a proper and professional way to connect these mirrors? I don't even have a clue how to run the wires from the door to the engine. Jebus!!!

Help out a poor noob.

These are the instructions from APC:

Step 1: Remove old mirror

Step 2: Install new LED mirror

Step 3: Locate the power source for the running lights and connect the red wire to it.

Step 4: Locate the power source for your each turn signal and connect the blue wire to it

Step 5: Connect the black wire to a good ground.

Yahhhh I am stuck on Step 3 to Step 5.

if you have to add extension wires do it but ground off your fender and your ok , and just tap into one of your wires on your turn signal like it says, and the other to the running light which practically the same thing ... those instructions aren't very (how to) but are detailed enough to use ..... if you can't figure it out I suggest just buying those wire taps that all you do is clamp it down on the two wires you want to connect and just play with it ..... its simple just running the wire is gonna take the longest

So the running lights should be the brown wire next to the blue wire right?

I have taken apart the head lights and looked at both the side signals and front signals. Both of them have 2 wires one light blue and brown.

So red should go to brown and blue to blue, and ground to a nice place.

Thanks CJ!!
