Headlight Question.
Wednesday, May 05, 2010 9:18 PM
so i have a 99 cavalier four door if it matters. im doin an 00-02 headlight conversion on it but im also planning on buying an hid kit should i just but the hid kit for my 99 model because im under the impression you lose you selection of low beam and high beam so id only need one headlight instead of the two like the 99 models or should i do the complete wiring swap to an 00-02....hope that makes sense.

if your doing the wire swap , how do you think a 99 kit would work for you ? this is really a simple common sense matter.

i kno the 99 kit wont work if i do a wire swap........what im asking is if i can bypass the wire swap by useing the 99 kit since it only has one light like the 00-02 model headlights.....

you could and i think someone mentioned they did it. only thing is you will need to find your own way to mount the 99 style to the 00+ style lights

Why not just buy a DDM tuning kit that does both low and high beams? You really don't search or research stuff before just asking do you?

Both of these offer HI-Low for 20 dollars extra.

Raptor Kit

DDM Slim Ballast

Also don't forget to order one of these
Wiring Kit

well see im switching to the 02 headlights because i like the look better and the point of fourums are for people that already kno to help me and for the guys that have been around a while to feel special when putting other people down. so what i was asking was if people thought [opinions which i can't research] it would be less of a hassle to leave my 99 wiring in the car when i switch to the 00-02 headlight houseing and since im gettting a hid kit that would leave me with just one beam which means just one headlight like in the 00-02 houseing..... but i didn't know if i twould be harder to make it fit then it would be to do the wiring.

Use some common sense with the 95-99 headlight bulbs in a 00-02 housing. Seriously its a 9006 or 9005 bulb that is tiny compared to a 9004 or 9007 bulb. You would have to afro-engineer it and it would most likely end up as a fail due to leaking. Do things right or do not do them at all.

The kits are different companies and I believe the warranty is different not sure on that one anymore but they used to be I am to lazy to go do the research for ya. But both are good kits I had the raptors and loved them. Just go with the one that offers a lifetime warranty and get the right bulbs for the right housing. Also for the love of god if you do do HID AIM THEM DOWN and stick to 35W and under 6k. Other drivers will appreciate it and cops won't hassle ya.

Also the only reason people put ya down is because you have been flooding the forum with stupid questions that if you took 5 seconds reading the sticky's you would have found your answers. Now you may think that oh I am just one person but every newb does it and it ends up being a problem and pissing people off esp when there is a thread on that same page asking the same @!#$ with the answer. Plus you also make multiple threads asking the same thing because you didn't get the answer you wanted in the first thread.

Now don't take my posts wrong I am naturally just a dick.

no i read this stickys i just like up to date and first hand answers and the questions wouldn't be stupid if you were asking and people on forums naturally bitchy i deal with it on a few because its the internet so why not right.... if there was a way id delete my own post after it was answer but theres not. also i dont own an 02 so i wouldn't know what the lights look like. plus this will be pushed away in a week or so.

No much has change din those stickys since the platform is dead and hasn't changed Also if you read them then you should know that you need to change the bulbs to the ones that fit the housing. If you could just use your old ones it would say that Just saying common sense is not so common anymore.

you do ask the same questions in different ways a lot though. and swapping out a headlight harness is much less of a hassle then trying to fab a safe and water proof way to fit the smaller bulbs.

its a freaking internet forum guys forreal the more post about it the better the chance someone will find it using the search. its not like people surf through pages looking for certain posts if they do there stupid because it changes everyday if you don't like it don't respond. there im done.

I guess I am stupid then since I actually use the search feature, and find info about what I want to do. Most of the time its been brought up and answered. I just enjoy @!#$ with people. I did answer every one of the questions that you did post. Just trying to help you learn to research and use the information on the site instead of just jumping to asking. There I go trollin again as you say.
