Step 1 Take spoiler off

Step 2 weld holes shut

Step 3 paint trunk

you might actually be able to find a trunk that didnt come with a spoiler or buy one thats been shaved, if you have no experience it can be tough as the trunk metal is thin and you'll either blow a hole through or warp it like crazy...

This, I learned the hard way when I filled the holes for my WW spoiler to put my Celica one on...

It's much easier to find one without a spoiler and have it painted.

No because the difference in expansion rates of the materials will eventually make it crack through your paint.

What? Where are you guys finding coupe lids w/o the spoiler? The only ones I've seen are on cars that are still in use.

If you have a 03+ Sunfire you're SOL

spoilers were NOT an option.

Believe me, I did NOT want one, but they don't make the trunks w/o them.

what I had to do: This to This

Good Luck!

Did I say the lids were different?

what I'm trying to say was that the 03+ sunfire trunk lid WILL have a spoiler from the factory, They did not make them with an option of a spoiler, they were STANDARD

i didn't say the lids were different, I was saying the spoiler will always be there from the factory.

when I ordered mine from the dealer, I told them NO SPOILER. But that was NOT AN OPTION, so i was stuck with the FUGLY stock spoiler.

I can see that you didn't like yours either. And I don't blame you.

Grab a trunk lid from one without a spoiler, that's what I did. Check out some junkyards, or find someone that wants to trade.
