i was curious as to how we can take the lens off of the taillight? oven? has anyone done this, looking to do a custom LED mod. thx in advance
oven yes, don't leave them in too long or at too high a temp. or u'll warp them. you'll then need a sharp exacto/stanley knife to cut apart the warmed silicone, and a new tube of silicone to reseal them. probly a good idea to pick up a set from a junkyard to practice with.

thx blucavvy, already on it, found some cheap sunfire taillights at junkyard, gonna try them and see what happens
kool, post up progress pics.
BTW blucavvy, my g/f saw what u did to ur taillight bezel, shes hittin me up to do that to hers once it gets warm out. this is awesome, finally i met a woman with same love for moddin cars that i do SWEET!!!!!!
if you can make if work that'd be sweet, im making my own custom headlights right now, not anything crazy though, its a subtle change that'll make the front end look cleaner
hey nathan i had a 99 sunfire a few years back, and one idea i had in my head was taking a 2000-2002 cavaliers headlight apart and somehow fitting it up to a sunfire headlight bracket(and cutting it up with a dremeland boy would that have been a lot to do, fitting and such, but i think if i got it right, it would have been well worth it.) and finally sealing it and giving it a nice clear headlight lens from izntrbl, but havent heard from him in a long time and i no longer have the car, but just a thought i wanted to share.
I was about to ask this... I've got some ideas floating around in my head for some tail lights....
Is the oven 100% necessary, or does it just make it easier to cut them apart? If it is necessary, what is a recommended temp and time to let them sit in there for?
