Unfornuately I have to take off the VHT's on my tailights so i get past the safety inspection, Anyone know a way to take that stuff off properly? Thnaks in advance
im thinking wet sanding? but what grit could work the best?
Just go get ya a set at the junkyard to pass inspection.
carb spray, laquer thinner... all will take it off. might dull the plastic but if all you want to do is take it off they will do the trick.
you could also sand it off.
easiest thing would be get a new set of tails like jayson said though. they are a dime a dozen in junk yards.
I tried that, they want like 70 bucks a light! so thats about 300 bucks!
where can I find laquer thinner? and that wouldnt damage the lens right?
I use gas...it comes off really easily. I messed mine up the first time so I had to re-do them
it didnt ruin the lens or anything?? what did you use right after u put gas on it?
soap and water will clean them up afterwards.
and wow, $70 a light? sorry but that is just ridiculus. give me that yard's number so i can call and tell them they are retarded.
hit up www.car-part.com they have thousands of cavalier's on there. just search up tails. i'll bet you find a whole set for $20.
haha, thats what i told em.
But awesome, im gonna check that out. I just need to atleast get the 3rd brake light paint off, and then I'm gonna take my lights out my other cavalier for now.
Nope..It didnt ruin the lens or anything.. I didnt do anything after I used the gas. I got them wet so I could get streaks out, and I painted them again.
