Working on plastic bumpers....
Wednesday, November 25, 2009 8:26 PM
Well I know how to fix fiberlglass bumpers but I recently sold my bodykit in search of a new look.

This is my plan and if you have experience with working on plastic bumpers please shine in....

Okay first thing...I have an OLDSMOBILE Alero....and I plan to do the grand am GT front end swap. I want to do some unique stuff and cover up the middle filler panel where the lisene plate goes, cover the fog light holes cause I do not have fog lights...etc.

So what materials do I use?

GMR has got nothing on this

just get some plastic and trim it to fit. then get some problem plastic repair, can't remember who makes it, but it works awesome on plastic. we use it at work to fix parts on semis and I've never seen anything crack out or bust

I read I need to know the code or type of plastic so I can determine what material of plastic repair to use. If you do this at work can you get the name of the stuff you use for me please.

I'll get when I go to work on Monday. The reason they say you need to know the type of plastic is so if you're plastic welding it on, it will stay. You can plastic weld it on too but you need a plastic welding kit with the right rods and it can get kind of expensive unless you know someone with one, or you plan to do it for other people and charge them.
