Where can i get window sweeps or " dew wipes" as they're called, for this car?
my '92 is all original, and it seems that i can find just about any part for this car
but these. My window sweeps are totally dried out and cracked. Anybody??

Wiper Blades...did you try your local auto parts store yet? Like Autozone, Checker, O'Reillys, etc?

Are you referring to the weatherstripping (exterior and/or interior) at the bottom of the door and rear quarter window glass? I checked the GM Parts Direct website for those, and while it shows these parts in the catalog, if you add them to the shopping cart a message somes back saying "they are no longer available or the part # has changed." I suggest you email GM Parts Direct asking them to clarify and if the items are no longer made whether they can send you a link to potential other sources for those out of production items. They've done that for me in situations where the parts I needed were no longer made and I was able to get them (old new stock) from firms they recommended.

I tried this; all the sites that came back that actually listed stripping for Sunbirds only had it for the sedan and coupe models. Even Hydro-E-Electric (a firm in Florida that is well known as the source of last resort for parts for out of production domestic convertibles) didn't have stripping for Sunbirds.

As for the pick and pull, the potenial challenge/issue with that path is that 17+ year old stripping may not be in much better condtion than what the OP is looking to replace (stripping ages even if properly taken care of). So I'd still recommend also checking with GM Parts Direct to see if they can point to a source of new old stock.
