Hey guys I have a question for you. I have a '96 2.2 ohv 5speed and I am getting ready to drop the motor back in.

I bought new coils and took the control module off to test it and figured since it was off I would relocate them. I know I can't put them on the head like the 2200 and I know I will have to lengthen the electrical plug. I also have universal wire so wire length isn't an issue.

My question to you is where do you think the best place to relocate them to would be. I figure the original spot isn't the best since water can get to them and GM redesigned it anyways. I am relocating the battery so that area will be open, but I don't really want my wires running that direction.

Why not put them on the end of the head like the 2200? That is what I would do.

Because that is where my egr is located. I might be wrong but I don't think I have room, plus I don't really want to tap a hole in the head

put it the same spot I'm putting mine, on the firewall OR just inside the cowl where the wiper motor is and shield it off with something. that's going to be my plan to clean up the bay a little bit.
