Sunfire sedan trunk badge removal?

How do I remove the part that says sunfire in red on the trunk? Is it just held on by adhesive? Holes of any sort? Any tips on how to remove it would be greatly appreciated

You should swap to a shaved cav trunk. That would be the cleanest I think.

God I miss the Sedan (the one in the picture) .

Yep, it's just held on with double sided tape. Just pull the letters off with your fingers and than use some WD 40 to get rid of the leftover adhesive.

Adding heat very carefully can also help when removing badges, and also to help get underneath them fishing line can help.

Yep, it's just adhesive! Here are a couple pictures of my old Sedan with the moldings and badges removed:

Fishing line, a hair dryer and WD 40 are your best friends when removing badges and/or moldings from your Sunfire. Also, here's a great how to for removing them. It's a major PITA and your fingers will hurt like hell for a few days, but it's all worth it in the end .

Also, I highly suggest doing a Cavalier trunk swap. It looks so much cleaner IMO:

J to envy, I've drooled over your sunfire for quite sometime on car domain, wasn't even thinking when I seen the name here lol. Thanks for the advice, your car was alot of inspiration so far. You nailed it on the head when you said your fingers will hurt, they sure did. As for the side moldings, there are not holes behind those either?? I'd love to remove those, although they have saved my car from quite a few dents from other peoples cars.

no edit button:

Also my rear bumper is in need of a respray after backing up into multiple items, I'm considering shaving the sunfire out of the bumper for a flush look.

Are there any instructions for how to remove the rear window stoppers, I love the look of the windows being rolled all the way down. Not to mention the complaints I get from rear passengers when they realize they're far old enough to handle the responsibility of a rear window being all the way open lol.

Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad my Sedan has inspired you. I miss it every day .

If you decide to remove the side moldings, your fingers will really hurt, but like I said, it's all worth it in the end. I guarantee you there are no holes behind the side moldings. It's held on with two strips of double sided tape, one along the top and one along the bottom.

Removing the rear window stoppers is one of the best and easiest things you can do to your Sedan. It looks so much better with the windows all the way down.

In case you haven't read through it yet, here are some other free and easy mods you can do to your Sedan.

If you ever have any more questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with me Josh.

Removed my window stoppers, best thing I have done so far, not to mention the easiest. I'm considering doing the door moldings, I need to start taking pictures before I go any further though. Very informational free mods page! Only thing I haven't done so far is the DRL, and I'm not sure if i will.

Just wear some thickish gloves and wrap the lines around your fingers so it wont cut into your fingers.

Awesome! Glad to hear you got rid of those window stoppers! I highly recommend disabling the DRLs because it looks so much nicer cruising with just the parking lights on . Just my $.02 though. Definitely start taking pictures. I want to see some before and after pictures.

That's a great suggestion, although your fingers won't really hurt from using the fishing line, they will hurt from removing the adhesive which really can't be done effectively while wearing gloves.

I just scrubbed with WD40 and it came off. My fingers hurt from the line digging into them.
