LED problem installed flasher
Thursday, July 09, 2009 12:18 PM
Hi everyone, I'm having an issue with my LED bulbs. I installed LEDs in the front turn signals, front side markers, back turn signals and back side markers. I installed a EP27 LED flasher. Heres the problem. When my lights are in the off position and when I signal my side markers flash on the opposite side......I'm not sure what this means. Also my signal lights in my gauge cluster stay on when turned to the park light and headlight position. Does anybody know what I should do?

What happens with the stock flasher in place? Normal operation, but a fast/slow blink??

Or are the lights still all jacked up?

Your signal indicators in the guage cluster are staying on because there is less of a load with the LEDs, and it thinks you have bulbs out. As far as the opposite side flashing.....try reversing the polarity of the LEDs (take out, turn around, re-install). Because most of these circuits opperate on a GROUND loop, reverse polarity may be closing the circuit for the opposite side. If not, make sure that you installed the flasher correctly.

When I install the stock flasher its super fast and doesn't blink at all. I haven't tried reversing the LEDs yet. I'm gonna try that.

you can also put a dummy bulb in the system to eliminate the dash lights. I know a lot of people hook up a regular bulb in the system to give it the load it needs to keep the dash lights off, but let us know how flipping the bulbs goes for the backward turnsignal operation.

What exactly do you mean by that? Putting in a incandescent bulb?

wiring the stock bulb in before your led bulb. My buddy did this after hooking up 03+ tail lights like toyos. Stopped the fast blinking, he didn't have a problem with dash lights tho.
