fanially i got some new parts for the ole cavalier
which one of them is an bumper
which i will probely try to do on monday with the help of an freind,hoping
anyways,need some info..
how many screws,and do i have to cut anything
one guy told me,i have to cut some of the plastic for the bumper support .but depends on the bumper
i got the drift bumper.one of the 3 i liked but for the price,i coundt pass it up

first off is it the drift front?
rear?
either way if its fiberglass, like mine was you do have to drill some holes.
For 95-99 there are two bolts on either fender that you will have to drill. I recommend either putting the bumper on the car and marking the holes or using your stock bumper to mark the holes.
After those 4 holes are marked and drilled, you will need to drill 3 holes in the front of the bumper where the hood and bumper meet... this is where it mounts, like stock, onto your front rebar support brace.
After that, it should fit right on there, and depending the quality of the bumper, you will have some adjustments to make.
One thing i found is that for the 95-99, the windshield wiper fluid bottle sticks out like a sore thumb, so either relocate it, or paint it black to avoid seeing it from the hole in the bumper.
and if its for the rear, same steps apply, install it, mark the four holes, drill, bolt up... you will however have to use your stock bumper brackets to install the rear, and by god keep the rear crush guard, modify but DO NOT REMOVE because bumper sag just looks plain aweful.
there 4 holes by the hood...i thought there was 3,but theres 4

its the front bumper..so i hope its an 1.2.3 thing but more then likelyit wont be

after i have it mounted and what not,then gotta get it painted
so far i got the canards spliiters on it.and maybe tommorow get the fog lights off and get them on the bumper.so i wont have to worry about it

I recommend after you mount it, you paint it OFF the car.
Just makes life easier, and so you dont get overspray everywhere and it looks like dick
Lots of people just delete the bumper turn signals, but I chose to keep them.
Instead of using the tear drop ones, i went and got a set of clear accord bumper lights and mounted those instead.
They flow with the bumper, and fill the entire top portion of the side holes...
Look into something like that if you want to keep the turn signals.
i got an set from an crx that my freind gave me,i was gonna sue them for my old car but that didnt work out to good,lol
as for paint,that was my plan to have it removed,gotta find the paint code for it yet
i was talking to my 1 freind at work who has an 98 z24 cav,with an body kit on it also,and asking him how hard it was and such.said its pretty easy but he made brackets for the bumper.so once i get my on,hes gonna make me a few brackets to help hold it up and what not

There's always custom work when it comes to fiberglass... whether it be brackets, molding, cutting or bolting.
I would recommend after installing the bumper, look for area's of flex, and support it with brackets that mount to the uni-body.
(ex/ the sides of the front bumper closest to the tires.)
good luck, and invest in a rotary tool.
I never had any issues with my fiberglass front.
It went on very nicely and doesnt flex etc.
Didnt need any supports, it sits just fine without.
The ONLY issue i had was the headlight fitment. but as Matt said, rotary tool did the trick
omg,it fit so perfect
only thing i had to deal with,as much as i wanted to keep the plastic support behind the bumper,i had to tear it all offf
18 screws,the 4 in the middle.she was off
i went around the block,no scraping on the speed bumbs
i cut the turn signals off for now
i need some mesh screen though
