I have a 03 ls sport that I am swamping over to a 02. I got the hood on and lights in but there is a one inch gap between hood and lights at the inside corner of the lights. There is about a 1/2 inch gap from corner lights to fender. Any suggestions on what to do, besides new fenders and making brackets to use the headlights.
im assuming you have the inside fender bracket for the corner lights? i would double check that everything is aligned right. as in something isnt sitting crooked.
Did you change the latch assembly and hood striker? If you are running the 02 front end you need to make sure you are running the 95-02 hood striker (the little bar that bolts to the hood), and latch assembly. You don't need to change the fenders or headlight brackets.
if ur goin from 03 to 02 headlights like i did u have to buy the head light brackets that will hold the headlights up and the corners in place.
with out those than they will sit to low.
I think I figured it out somewhat, I got the inside metal brackets for the 02 but there is still the gap by the headlight and front of the hood. Is there a difference in 95-99 and 00-02 hoods. I know there should not be but it seems to not arc as much; plus I have to reach father in to reach the hood latch than my buddies 01.
The 95-02 hoods are the same, but the latch assemblies and hood strikers changed in 03. If you still have those that is a big part of your problem.
