What about steel wool?
I wouldn't think that would hurt the defroster lines but you'd want to test it out on a little spot first..

Mineral Spirits?
I've tried PB Blaster and Goo Gone. I have not tried mineral spirits. Can you find it in the paint isle?

I have not tried steel wool either. I've heard they make a really fine "grit" that isn't supposed to scratch. Any truth to that?
Thanks for the suggestions.

Did your tint have two layers? Because that's what mine looked like when i only pulled the top layer off.

steel wool goes down to 00 as far as i know, which is fine as hell...should be fine to use

The tint was 2 layers and I'm 99% sure that I have both layers off. Reason I say that is because I occasionally will find some leftover glue and that will come off with just the regular ammonia glass cleaner. This stuff is something else. I just can't believe that I can scrape it easily with a blade but no chemical that I have tried so far has touched it. I think my next step is to spray it with goo gone and scrub it with some steel wool.

Yes indeed and all three of them too, I usually get it at Home Depot.

x2 on the thinner and wool. we use the 000(possibly 0000) on glass if we get over spray on it. works wonders.

We used to buy "0000" steel wool all the time at my old job. It was used for polishing metals as they turned them.
To my surprise (and delight) 000 steel wool did the trick. Doesn't appear to have damaged the defrosters either but I haven't test them out yet. Thanks for all the help guys! You saved me a lot of money!
