i installed a new pair of silverstar ultras in my 97 sunfire today and they suck. i used to have the cheap ebay blue ones and they sucked when it was pitch black and raining. so i bought these, and i discoverd that they were alot less brighter than the blue ones. i mean light output too not just color. when the low beams are on it looks like daytime running lights. and also now that i installed them, the highbeam indicator light stays on wheather its on low beam or high beam. help please!!!!
I did the same and AGREE, I do not see any brightness change and for $40 they SUCK
I have them and like them a lot, quite a bit whiter. and if your Headlights are aimed correctly, they work nicely.
its been discussed on here many times. they are hit or miss with light output. i have mine and love mine, they are bright as hell and work amazing. some work really well and others suck.
Do you think doing the BIG 3 wiring would make a sufficient difference

Doubtful. If you had a problem that severe with your vehicle ground, you would be seeing other side effects besides dim headlights. Grab a voltmeter and check the voltage at your headlight harness -- it should be at least 13.5 to 14V with the vehicle running.

i hav silverstar ultras and im very pleased with them. they are much brighter than stock
Overall I am moderately satisfied with the Silver Star Ultras on my '02 Sunfire. In my opinion, the light output and color of mine are pretty much the same as regular headlight bulbs. I am definitely disappointed because I was expecting them to be quite a bit whiter and brighter. My only major complaint is that they definitely do suck big time when it's raining.
I have regular Silver Stars in my '94 Sunbird and they're very white and very bright. I'm mean, like, you don't even need to use the brights because the regular headlights are that bright. This definitely causes me to believe it's a hit or miss with these bulbs.
i work at advance auto parts and installed some for a customer and they came back the next morning for new ones because they burned out, in less then 12 hours.
as far rain goes, i havent had a problem. in fact its been raining here for 3 days straight and i work at night. havent had a problem. im still very happy with them. but i will agree with j to envy, they arent as WHITE as i thought they would be.
The set I've got I'm pleased with. They dont suck in the rain and its brighter and whiter than stock but it doesnt look tacky
Honestly there are more High end Halogen bulbs out there, believe it or not. These are a now end terd bulb.
But your not going to get much better in this area of voltage, and heat the bulb gives off. Color coatings are such will only decrease output.

ok i found out my problem. i bought the wrong bulbs. must have been half asleep when i bought them haha...i got 9004's instead of 9007's which would also explain why they wouldnt fit in right. anyone wanna buy em??
