I have talked to Xenondepot.com-kbcarstuff.com (same company) about doing a GP for HID kits. They are a little iffy about a GP based on unit sales, but said they would offer us a coupon code for their products.
This is a complete plug and play kit! These are 35W kits, available in 3000k, 4300k, 5000k, 6500k, 8000k
So how many people are interested in this? The pricing they are currently showing on their website is $199.99 for most kits (9006 and 9007) before our coupon. Once I get the discount amount for the coupon I will post that.
I will have all of the details soon, and will post in the GP forum once everything is all set up. This will all be going through their website, I will not touch or have anything to do with your money or product.

2 x Xtreme HID Digital Ballasts

About the Xtreme Digital HID Kit:
The Xtreme Digital Xenon HID Conversion kits utilize cutting edge Xenon HID components made with superior Japanese craftsmanship and quality to offer you the latest in High Intensity Discharge (HID) Xenon technology. To ensure optimal light output, the Xtreme HID Kit uses laser calibrated bulbs so that the focal point of the HID bulb matches the focal point of the corresponding halogen bulb. This will result in both proper fitment and optically correct beam patterns. Industry leading AMP style connectors are used to ensure proper water tight connections between the HID bulb and HID ballast.
The HID ballasts used in this product are uniquely designed for aftermarket HID Xenon applications as they are completely epoxy sealed to protect against harsh weather conditions. In aftermarket HID conversion kit applications, ballasts are often mounted outside the headlight leaving them susceptible to water damage. The Xtreme ballasts are specifically designed for these applications making them the superior choice for your aftermarket HID conversion kit upgrade.
This HID conversion kit will include a complete wiring harness that will literally plug directly into your OEM headlight harness via proper mating connectors. The harness provided will include upgraded fuses and relays to ensure that the ballasts always receive a constant 12V. Powering ballasts directly from the OEM headlight harness can cause your HID lights to flicker on occasion due to the fact that the power supplied from the OE headlight harness can fluctuate. Halogen bulbs can accomodate this voltage drop as the light will just dim. HID lights cannot; as a result, they will flicker thus resulting in premature failure. Unlike many HID conversion kits on the market, our HID kit will use a dual harness set up that will provide each ballast its own fuse and relay. Should a fuse/relay ever fail only one side will be effected vs both lights going out.
Xtreme HID converstion kits are manufactured in an industry leading ISO and TUV certified high tech facility.
They also off DOT 00-02 headlights
95-99 headlight
03-05 headlights

Wait I lied. I found this on their site. But no pic for it

Yeah there are some TYC tail lights, headlights is what I'm looking for. Thanks though.
Its probably this:
Good luck though. According to TYC, the entire Sunfire tail line has been discontinued.
But for 03-05 Sunfires, they use an H9 (high) and H11 (low)... both kits are offered through that xenon place.

DDM Tuning offers kits at 1/4 of that price, and the BMW crowd seems to love them. I just bought two kits from them and they work just dandy.

would anybody advise using projectors with HID's? Ive heard you dont have to have projectors to have HID's and when i see thos people i want to strangle them because they are blinding. With projectors they are quite nice... still no love for the sunfires.....

Not saying those are bad kits, or these are the best. But like all things, you usually get what you pay for
And i just read a like 30 pages on stuff from m3forums, bimmerforums, and m5forums and all the reviews were mixed. Most people seemed not to know of them, others said iffy quality or wouldnt trust it, others said good. those who had ordered said great customer service tho.
I also agree with this statement.
I'm on another forum where XenonDepot is a sponsor. While yes his kits are seen as very nice and good, I don't believe he has had 100% perfect satisfaction (dead bulbs or ballasts). So, no one is perfect.
I recently found a post where someone posted a chinese link who was an HID manufacturer, and almost every single HID kit I saw on there were vendors' kits. Even kits claimed that "no one else has the rights to sell these kits". Which makes me believe that the kits all come from the SAME factory. Exception of course are OEM hid's. That said, my assumption is that some ppl still have the guts to sell them at a high price and claim high quality, vs others are just making something off of it.
Case in point, yes I know I bought some $50 HID's. There are mixed reviews. But - if my kit were to fail, there is a "lifetime" warranty, and I doubt DDM/Apexcone is going out of business anytime soon. Even at that, if something were to fail, I'll just buy another kit for $50. I'd be
much more pissed if my $200 kit failed. I bought two kits for about $125 shipped, whereas after shipping the XenonDepot kit would have cost me nearly
double, for one kit only.
And in all fairness, in the other forums I frequent, XenonDepot does seem to be a good guy with good customer service.

xenondepot is a vendor on clublexus and gets alot of credit from those people.
you are correct that there are some times where they have bad bulbs or ballasts but hes right there to ship out new parts asap. obviously he doesnt test every single piece that goes out. sometimes things that are brand new just dont work but thats a rare case and in cases where ive seen members complain about getting a bad bulb, they never had a problem getting a replacement asap. i would highly recommend xenondepot for anything hid wise.
nasty - please find out from them if this promo code works for all products. id love to upgrade my hids to 6k along with matching 6k fogs

you'll need projectors... stock headlight lenses spread light in all directions so you'll blind anyone in front of your car. which would also be a good sign to any cop that you have illegal lights (easy ticket for them)
so yes, you'll want to get projectors... which is the big issue for us sunfires. cavaliers have premade housing that they can buy, but not for sunfires. (there have been a few throughout the years, but they've all been pretty ugly, or never arrived lol) so you'll have to make your own too..

No worries there are still some sites online that have them in stock, I just need to get my butt in gear and order them.

i was reading through the websites info, and they claim that the "source" from the light has been designed to be in the same location as a halogen bulb, thus i would assume fix the glare issue....
but in any case, any update on this?

unless you have projectors, you will blind everyone on the road. the projectors fix the light to one point on the road. without a projector, the light simply reflects off the reflector in the headlight which spreads the light all over. doesnt matter the type of bulb

The design goal of a headlight is to produce an acceptable amount of light within a particular shape and range. The problem with putting HIDs in a reflector housing is that the entire lighting area increases in size as well as intensity. The light "leaks" and grows beyond the original target, and parts on the fringe of the original target may become unacceptably bright. The change in focal point is certainly part of the problem, but is far from the only cause for this.

One chart I came across showing the light pattern from a 1998 Nissan Frontier, before and after an HID retrofit on reflector housings. Numbers are measured luminous intensity in candela, from a distance of 50 feet.

There where very few times I have ever seen reflector housings not glare. One was a mark2 jetta, that s about it.
The other night some Tool had rediculous purple headlights and blue fog lights in some SUV. It was the first time I have ever seen someone get out there car and bitch someone out about HID's at a stoplight haha.
Example A. Right
My Modded Ebay projectors, and Blazer brand projector fogs. Clean lines, looks stocks and bright as hell where I need it, on the ground.
Example B. Wrong
I forget who's car this is, but it shows the 360 degree glare. Imagine this coming at you on a dark road.
Theres your comparison, it's pretty clear the diffrence.

" Aint nothin' but a Peanut!"
thats chazz's car. and i for one still plan on going with projectors, i just thought it was interesting in the idea of atleast attempting to fix the problem.
UPDATE:
So I talked to Steve today on the phone. Seems like a great guy. sadly the conversation was short due to me being at work. But I emailed him some follow up questions. Steve has been very fast about getting back to the emails. So once I have all the info I will do another update,
So this is what I have so far. The discount will be $25 off each HID kit. So call it 12.5% off Does this sound like something you would all like to be put forward and posted in the GP forum?
I asked him in the email about the rest of his products, once I get the answers I will post here.
I went ahead and purchased my HID kit today. Once I have them i'll take some pics and post a review.
So i would say either later on tonight, or 2morrow I will have all the info for you guys, if you have any questions ask post em here and ill ask Steve. let me know what you all think!

Just to add one more thing, It will be openn to all HID kits, as i bought for my cherokee.
Will post when I hear about the rest of the products!!
