like the post says, got ticketed for having tinted tails, well more or less not being visable but ive had them tinted for atleast 3 yrs and no issue, but im sort of interested in LED bulbs, i bought a set from advanced a 12 LED set and im going to see how they work out, but ill prolly end up buying a 30 led bulb just wanted input, ill post pictures soon thanks in advance
normally they are no brighter, or sometimes less brighter than a normal bulb.
try them out, but most are a waste.
yea, I tossed my stock bulbs for a set of LEDs from Advanced.. and I've been pulled over 3 times for them bein too dim, or not lit up at all.. you gotta find quality bulbs when it comes to LED

alright, i was looking on that superbrightleds.com at a few, im gonna load pics up tonite within the nxt half hour of the lights without the lights just to justify how dark they are
I know Pilot Automotive makes a few L.E.D. bulbs and I remember seeing a few, 'spider' L.E.D. bulbs in Murry's/AutoZone's Accessories catalogs. I don't know how much brighter they will be cause I haven't been able to get any lately. What is the bulb number btw?

if you buy good ones you wont have to worry about them not being bright enough. the ones at advanced and auto zone are complete junk and dont have the right amount of LEDs to fill the lens they only fire one way...out...
these ones work very well and fill the lens entirely and are super bright

yea i looked up those spider leds, that way outa the price range i wanna spend, but they seem badass
-- TRD, ill check that site out
The way i see it, i have 1.55'' hole to fit a bulb in, that brightest i can get for the money i will, and ill just deal with the cops, not trying to seem like a badass but i like the way my tails r so im going to keep them, plus if i have some money left im debating on drilling into my head light and putting a few blue led's in, but idk how to wire them up, any input for be greatly welcomed.
thanks for the input some far, keep it coming
YEA ik blue will get me pulled over, but im going to look into it, i like the look of the angel eyes but i dont want to tackle cracking open my lense, so any head light ideas??
I dont have a murrys locally, and i wanna get these asap, so shipping must be tentative, so ill look into this website, ne ideas welcomed
Murry's is also Checker's and those three, can't remember all of them atm.

ic ic , yea i put a call into a friend of mine whos very good at wiring LEDs, he said 30$ and he wires up my entire brakelight assembly, that includes parts, yes ik that may be alot but im not very good at that sort of thing so 30 bucks to have it done right and bright, (no pun intended) is a deal for me, so i stop by there weds. to have them scope it out
if you are lookin for actual aftermarket headlights for your car, I say good luck... one of the reasons I got rid of my 2nd gen was 'cause there was no aftermarket support AT ALL (at the time, back in '01).. there are kits and whatnot now, but I havent really looked hard

my tails currently
yea as for support ik there is none , be creative
From what I've seen, the LED bulbs sold at CSK/Murray's are only 3000mcd LED's... not really enough to do much, especially in a tinted housing.
If you want to really get creative, get a few of these, drill/silicone into the housing (if you dare) and wire 'em in. You should be able to find a 1157 bulb-side socket only online somewhere. 18 each side should be fine.
A series of 6 LEDs + one 100ohm, 1/4 watt resistor will work for brake, run a wire in parallel w/ one 1000ohm (around there) 1/4 watt resistor to have it work for parks.

If you want to I could do some work on a set of headlights for you.
as for the rials your gonna have to spend a decent bit for LEDs that will be good enough.

or you could just fight the ticket in court and prove that the light shines through the same exact as it would normally with the tint.
or is it not vht nightshades?
its VHT nite shades, and it shines but im getting spotted literally 2-3 times a week at night because cops are bored...and im not one of those ppl who hate cops, it just seems like they are
