Custom Exterior / Interior Parts
Monday, June 09, 2008 1:51 AM
I am in the works of setting up a GP with a company in SD for custom Carbon Fiber or Fiberglass parts.
If I can get this don’t what parts would you like to see done in carbon fiber or fiber glass.

I want a CF headliner, CF dash, CF Door Panels.

What do you want so I can get all the prices.

*If this is the wrong fourm for this please let me know*
*This is not a GP. I want to see what parts people want to see so I can get it set up and get the pricing.*

i would be more interested in small pieces like a trim ring for the shift boot, fuse box cover and maybe the defroster vent.

a carbon fiber dash bezel would be AWESOME. i would 100% buy one of those.

Riddle me this... riddle me that...

they are booked until this fall and they need half down on the parts and the other have when the part is ready.

They wont be able to start the molding process until early fall, but the parts he is going to price are:

Carbon Fiber

Dash bezel

Shift boot (trim ring)

Fuse box cover

Defroster vent

Center console

Headliner

Full dash

Door panels

A pillar with triple gauge pod.

Pass. Side a pillar

I just need to get pictures send over to him of the parts so there is no mistake on price.

I will keep anyone who wants these parts updated on whats going on.

so do you plan on fronting half the money then for all the parts since they need half down? im just saying you've been here for 8 months, i doubt people will be willing to just give you hundreds of dollars. most of the big items like the dash, door panels, headliner, center console are going to run easily 300+ for each piece

Brad (zyaaa) will be meeting me on the 21st of this month so then maybe you will believe im not here to screw anyone over.
Ill send you what I was sent.

What processes do you guys use at topshop?

We use 3 different processes! Hand laid, vacuum bagged, and vacuum injected RTM.

How is the quality and fitment of the parts?

The quality comes in Grade A and Grade Flawless . They all come with UV protectant. The grade A is great although Grade Flawless is as close to perfect as we can come

How much is the price different between A and Flawless?

Well, The Flawless Grade is 50% more than the base price for example( 94-01 CF integra headliner with sunroof: Grade A 400.00 + 70.00 for shipping;; Grade Flawless 400.00 x 50% = 560.00 plus 70.00 for shipping.

What is the difference between Grade A and Grade Flawless?

Grade A is excellent but not perfect and Grade Flawless is as close to perfect as they come.

Is there any warranty or coverage on products?

There is a one year warranty on the Flawless Grade parts and no warranty on grade A parts. If you would like a warranty on grade a there is a one year warranty on a part for 15% of the value of the part. There is no warranty's on sale prices and GB buy prices (parts are as is.)

correct me if i'm wrong, but 400 * 50 percent is actually 200. and even though im sure they meant to multiply it by 150%, that still would make the part 600 not 560.

or maybe my accountant skills have worn off over time.....

dont get me wrong im not saying your a bad person out to rip people off but with all the @!#$ thats been going on the forums lately its gonna be hard to convince some people to dish out hundreds of dollars to a member that isnt very well known. im sure the quality of the parts is excellent but you have to remember about 90% of jbody owners are very cheap.

If it goes as planned you'd send the money to the company and everything I live in nebraska and the Company is in south dakota.

I understand I also am cheap, but I am going to start going for quality and the best parts I can get.

When I get the pic sent in (hoping for tomorrow night) Ill get the prices asap and get back to everyone to see if the prices are good, but he also said the more people the cheaper the part because they have to do the mold and everything.

CF Center Console would be mint. I'd be in for one. as well as a CF shift trim ring. But I would be interested in seeing what else can be made. I'll be watching this thread.
