BODYSHOP HELP!

so last november while there was snow on the ground i was on the highway and one of my front tires blew up and tore off by sideskirt, sideskirt was oem as can be seen here

about febuary i got a set of import fighter sides (used) as they were alot cheaper then one gm oem part that no dealerships around here even listed them. on top of that a junkyard wanted 800$ anyways i got the rf sides for 100$,

about a year prior to this i was hit hard on my drivers side and it all went through insurance and looks fine,(not my fault) however it still has the oem side on it...as can be seen in the above picture

to save some money the same bodyshop that fixed the car when it went through insurance told me i could take the side off myself. so i go out today to start taking off the drivers side door cladding only to find holes drilled underneath it. Not serving any purpose as the double sided tape that held the cladding on was covering em' (the holes)

now to get my new sides painted and installed and fixing some surface rust was gonna cost about 500$ from the same bodyshop ( i went there because i like em) now in order to put the sides on there gonna have to fill the holes and paint that side of the car arn't they?

so now heres the question , im going back to the same bodyshop on monday to see whats going on, ie : if its gonna be 500$ to paint the entire side of my car, fill in the holes, paint my sides and install em......

but i would like to know if any bodymen on this site knows a legit reason for drilling holes in a door that would be covered by cladding? and if i have a valid arguement that they should have to fill in the holes and paint the side of my car ?

Well i think you are sol in your argument but ..there is no way to prove anything...I do believe the sunfire gt's and 03 up have holes in the door such as that..maybe they chnaged the door out for a fire one?

you actually do have a valid argument. the body shop put a door off or a Sunfire GT on your car when they repaired it. and they SHOULD have filled the holes. instead they used your skirts to hide them. i would tell them they have to fix it since they did not do it correctly in the first place.

i agree- alot of body shops cut corners to save money/time.
