Hey guys, I'm putting an 03-05 LS Sport rear bumper on my 02. Anyways, I already ordered new brackets for the bumper so the filler plate will mount properly, and I have the bumper (It gets painted Monday/Tues) and I have an 03-05 Crush sitting in the garage, here's my question though...
My old impact piece is plastic and pop rivetted into the actual impact bar.. my 03-05 is giant piece of foam, wtf? How do I attach the damn thing to the bar? is it just pressure fit? glue?!? I would have tested with a pressure fit yesterday, but I have to drive the car and didn't want to rip off my 02 bumper and the crushguard, and not be able to put it back on!
lol, thanks in advance guys!

just trim yours if the bumper doesnt fit.

I already have the proper crushguard... so I'd honestly just rather do it the proper way, then hack the crap out of my 02 crush. Plus my buddy has a 96 that he's basically turning into an 02, so I'm saving my bumper and crush for him.

you dont need to change crush guards. it should fit over yours. i said just trim it in case it was tight in some areas.
They're actually 2 different part numbers according to part numbers. The 03 Bumper tucks in and the part for the licence plate is recessed, the bumper cover physically does not fit over the 02 crush guard, I'm not trying to be a dick, but I just wanted to attach my 03 crushguard properly, not hack my 02 guard.
Like I said... just trying to fit the 03 cover properly, thats what I'm lookin for an answer for, I don't want my bumper flapping in the wind.

the last 2 I did, I used silicone adhesive to hold it.
P.S. when drilling out the pop rivets, try not to get them hot- use a good sharp bit.
