Alright so I have a bit of a odd situation here.... ever since I owned the car I noticed something off about the drivers side portion of the hood.... it just doesn't sit as nice as the passenger side.... for example.. there is a nice maybe half finger width gap on the passenger side with just a small difference in height between the hood and the top of the fender.... but on my drivers side.. the hood sits about a half finger to high and there is a gap thats almost a full finger between the hood and the fender..... I removed the hood thinking it was something weird with the hood... put on a new hood that sat flush on the donor vehicle... and exact same thing.. fits 100% perfect on the passenger side but off on the drivers side.... I have replace the drivers side fender from the original (it was damaged) however there was 0 frame damage...... is this just a matter of not having the fender installed 100% correct?? or is there some adjustments for the hood?? i already tried the 4 bumper stops and they did nothing...
bump stops will only adjust the height of the hood for where it sits. that would help for your height issues with the fender to hood. have you ever removed the brackets for the hood off the car? that could be your problem. i know i removed them once and it was a bitch to line it back up again. also if you want your fenders to sit flush with the hood, add some washers under the fender bolts to bring it up a tad. also if moving the brackets doesnt help with the gap, push the fender in more and tighten the bolts.
definitely a fender problem. Did you replace the fender with OEM, or aftermarket? Cheaper aftermarket ones do not always fit 100%, and create problems like this...
The fender was replaced with oem.... hmm i'll pop it off and put it back on again... as for taking off the hood.. I have before but it doesn't make sense that the passenger side always lines up perfect...
did you take the brackets off the car too? its very possible that the passenger side is lined up fine and the drivers side isnt
I've removed them from the car yes... but what are the chances that 2 hoods would have the exact same problem on different hinges??
