Is it Possible?
Monday, September 24, 2007 9:30 PM
Hey Guys, I posted a couple weeks back about how my front chevy emblem on the front ofmy cav has gotten water under it and is looking pretty crappy. I dont wana just take it off and the dealer wanted to charge me $40 for a new one. My Question is, am I able to remove the emblem buy some double sided tape and reapply it back where it belongs, and it look fine ? If so any reccomendations on the tape I should get?

Also, If this is possible...Do you think the easiest way to remove it would be with a piece of floss or something, in order to get underneath it?

Thanks

Use some fishing line to get it off and I'd suggest getting some 3M double-sided tape to put it back on.

After you use the fishing line to get the emblem off. Just use your fingers to roll up the adhesive.. after that, just use soap and water. Being you have a relatively newer model, the adhesive shouldn't be too baked on, so you shouldn't need to use Goo Gone or anything. But yea, if you can't get it all off, get a shop rag and pour a little Goo Gone / Goof Off on the rag and work it off. Just make sure you wash the whole area down with soap / water afterward.. you really don't want that stuff sitting on your car longer than you have to.
